The Thuma team is looking to hire a Sourcing Manager. Reporting to the Global Sourcing Director you will be responsible with assisting in the development and execution of sourcing strategies to deliver value to the business through favorable cost, quality, speed, and sustainability. Primary responsibilities will be to expertly own sourcing and operational initiatives on all aspects of the Product Life Cycle for assigned categories, from development to delivery. Collaborate with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve quality, production efficiencies, innovation, and cost reductions. The Sourcing Manager will recommend and implement strategies to support category growth, optimize cost, and have responsibility to develop and maintain key supplier relationships, and support supply chain risk mitigation strategies.
Thuma’s Headquarters is based in the historic Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco. This role requires weekly travel to the HQ.

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Director to evaluate & allocate new product development initiatives to appropriate vendor(s) that meets brand aesthetic, quality and cost goals
- Solicit RFQs, perform cost analysis, identify cost reduction opportunities and engage in cost negotiations
- Manage vendor communications related to designated product categories
- Drive development milestones to ensure that deadlines are met, issues are flagged, and update the team as needed
- Track and report on production schedules to ensure on-time shipment to support established launch dates
- Establish and drive QA processes to ensure products meet our quality standards
- Collaborate with in-country teams and suppliers on troubleshooting & root causing for quality and/or general issues, manage CAP implementation and tracking
- Partner with Compliance team, communicate, and track required testing and labeling needs for new developments, adhering to compliance standards for applicable markets
- Engage in supplier demand planning to ensure capacities meet volume forecasts
- Provide support in vetting and onboarding of new vendors
- Identify and implement opportunities for lead time and MOQ reduction and support chase strategies
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for innovation, SOPs and tools to improve efficiencies and speed to market
- Support responsible sourcing across all products, sustainability initiatives, and high-quality product development
- Manage special projects as needed
This Might Describe You:
- 5+ years in Sourcing, Product Development, and/or Production experience in multiple product and material categories; Relevant experience in Home Furnishing industry preferred
- Detail oriented and superior organization skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; Experience communicating with international partners
- Resourceful, and able to problem-solve, prioritize and work independently
- Able to learn, be flexible, adapt to change, and grow with the organization
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Willingness to travel
