Job Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly technical Sourcing Engineer to manage the supply base for the "brain and heart" of our Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs). You will be responsible for sourcing high-reliability electronics, power management systems, and electro-mechanical products. Your goal will be to ensure that our power distribution and control systems are resilient, cost-effective, and localized within the North American region.
Responsibilities:
· Power & Control Sourcing: Lead the strategic sourcing for Power Management products, circuit breakers, busbars, data communication products and complex control boards.
· Localization of Electrification: Identify and qualify regional partners in Mexico/US for Wire Harness assembly and Control Panel builds to replace overseas supply chains. Partner with global-brand manufacturers to work directly and remove third parties and distributors. Drive Value Analysis/Value Engineering projects to simplify wiring architectures and transition to regional "Plug-and-Play" electronic modules.
· Sensor Integration: Manage the supply base for critical sensors (pressure, flow, temperature, and leak detection) required for real-time CDU monitoring.
· Total Cost Ownership: Develop "bottom-up" cost models based on raw metal indices, labor rates, landed prices, tariffs/taxes and assess supplier capacity requirements.
· NPI Leadership: Manage the transition of new CDU metal sub-assemblies from prototype to high-volume production in our Juarez-based facilities.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
· Experience: 6+ years in technical sourcing or manufacturing engineering within the electronics or electrification sector.
· Experience with power distribution, sensors, PCBA and harnessing is essential.
· Knowledge of trade compliance and quality management systems is desired.
· Advanced English (Fluent). Must be able to conduct technical reviews, negotiate contracts, and present localization business cases to corporate executives.
