This position will be responsible for managing indirect spend across Europe, with a primary focus on logistics and transportation, while also overseeing additional procurement categories as needed. As Category Manager, will develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives, drive competitive bids, and optimize cost efficiencies in logistics, freight, and pallet operations, among others. Working closely with the Key Category Manager and cross-functional teams, will evaluate supplier performance, foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and ensure business requirements are met for quality, safety, and service. In addition, will identify opportunities for process improvements, support the integration of digital solutions (such as EDI), and contribute to the overall competitiveness of the company’s supply chain through effective category management across all assigned areas, while ensuring customer needs are being taken into consideration in terms of food safety, quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Align external warehousing, transportation and pallet strategies all over Europe.
Care for competitive logistic costs with our logistic operators, freight and pallet companies through market monitoring and regular bids.
Care for customer satisfaction related to 3PL and transportation service: participate in steering committees with follow-up of food safety and quality processes, operations, capacities, KPIs and continuous improvement plans.
Together with the Key Category Manager and the local Supply Chain team leader define and quote cost efficient logistic solutions for cross-countries projects in Europe.
Develop and execute the Sourcing Category Strategy for the assigned scope, aligned with the Key Category Manager
Manage supplier relationships and supplier by maintaining supplier scorecards, site visits (when applicable), day-to-day interactions and regular review meetings.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and identify potential savings opportunities.
Develop and stay current on market intelligence for assigned categories of spend
Accountable to meet Sourcing goals for assigned categories, such as cost savings,
quality, payment terms, compliance to requirements and risk plans. Employ the
appropriate use of risk management tools.
Key Ingredients:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain & Logistics
6+ in Supply Chain, Logistics & Transportation, Operations, Finance, Business Administration or related field
Fluency in English and Spanish. French, Portuguese or German
Smooth communication (both orally and in writing), discreet, and solution-oriented
Attention to detail and analytical skills, Advanced communication and negotiation skills
Ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams in identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
Team player and customer service orientation
Knowledge of inventory management, financial acumen, system knowledge and project management skills
Capable of multi-tasking and able to drive numerous programs at different points of development simultaneously.
Availability to travel up to 35% (on annual basis)
