About The Opportunity
As a Merchant Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in procurement, supplier relationship management, and category analysis within the dynamic food-tech industry. You’ll work closely with the merchant team to support supplier evaluation, cost analysis, and sustainability initiatives, while learning how to balance quality, cost, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
The Impact You Will Make
Assist in identifying and evaluating new suppliers for produce, proteins, dairy, and specialty ingredients.
Support data collection and analysis for cost modeling, supplier performance, and market trends.
Participate in RFP (Request for Proposal) and vendor onboarding processes.
Help monitor supplier compliance with food safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
Conduct benchmarking research on commodity pricing and competitive sourcing strategies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Culinary, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure sourcing decisions align with business needs.
Prepare presentations and reports to summarize findings and recommendations for leadership.
What You Bring to the Table
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Food Science, Business, or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (bonus: SQL, Tableau, or other analytics tools).
Passion for food, sustainability, and supply chain innovation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
As a matter of company policy, Wonder does not sponsor applicants for employment visa status for this role.
Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.
New Jersey: $36.00 per hour.
