Where is the work:

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

What's in it for you:
Provide quality engineering leadership to designated partners within the Sourced Products portfolio of HVAC Finished Goods to promote and foster an exceptional customer experience for the Trane Branded equipment provide by these partners.  Manage, coach and mentors Sourced Products partners on strategic quality initiatives from product inception through post-sales issues to mitigate potential quality risks for expected performance.  Manage supplier usage of standard work elements tailored to drive improved performance in problem solving activities, new program launches, field service engagement and end customer experience. 


What you will do:

  • PGT Engagement:  Partner with product and category management to establish collaborative working relationship with targeted Sourced Products Partners in the management of sustaining product as well as new product initiatives targeted for market introduction.
  • Problem-Solving:  Coach and mentor for effective problem-solving methods and techniques to address quality concerns found in the field and at end-customers affecting expected performance.
  • Standard Work Deployment:  Train SP partners in the use of standard work elements intended to drive improved productivity and first pass yield (FPY).
  • Data Analysis:  Execute monthly warranty claim and field quality alert analysis to help suppliers understand top Pareto issues that could lead to reduced warranty and concession expenses and PPM reduction. Track supplier performance metrics for expedited response to negative trends and unfavorable customer concerns.
  • Stakeholder Support:  Provide point-of-contact resource for quality related issues for account managers, field service representatives and other customer-facing agents to assist with thorough problem resolution.
  • Supplier Management:  Initiates key supplier process reviews and audits to confirm process rigor and capabilities to meet performance expectations. Introduce select quality initiatives that will drive increased focus on quality within the Sourced Product partners’ operations and implement measures that will hold them accountable to meeting deliverable expectations.
  • New Product Development:  Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning initiatives and standard work in the lifecycle development of new product introduction through Sourced Product channels.
  • Warranty Recovery:  Facilitate solution development opportunities for supplier recovery efforts between Sourced Products partners and CHVAC recovery teams. Manage supplier requests for part return teardown analysis.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management or related discipline
  • Professional certification (CPM, Six Sigma, CQM, CQE, CSQE, PE, etc.) is preferred
  • 8-12 years of experience in quality or quality engineering in a design, engineering or manufacturing environment that has embraced best practices in terms of Advanced Quality Planning, DFMEA deployment and Production Part Approval Processes.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and applied knowledge in: APQP, FMEA, PPAP
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate suppliers as well as interact at various levels throughout the Trane organization
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills with particular focus on problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate at various levels of the Trane organizations as well as its Sourced Products Partners and the end-customer representatives.
  • Ability to work remotely (up to 50%) while continuing to drive quality performance with outside businesses.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% with some peaks at higher levels.

$69,600.00 - $124,950.00
