We are seeking a skilled and passionate Solution Engineer to support our growing Couchbase user community and drive customer success. This role is a sales role, with a blend of technical expertise, consultative selling, and relationship building, ideal for a professional with 4+ years of experience in solutions engineering or a related field. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and demonstrating complex solutions across on-premise and multi-cloud environments, all while empowering customers and partners to achieve their goals with Couchbase’s innovative solutions.
What You Will DoTechnical Expertise and Customer Enablement:
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, designing and demonstrating complex solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Deliver engaging workshops, tailored demos, and performance-driven Proofs of Concept (POCs) to address customer and partner challenges.
- Experience with both on-premise and multi-cloud environments, leveraging expertise in data structures, connectors, and SDK languages.
- Partner with internal teams (Engineering, Product Management, Professional Services) to align on business priorities and deliver impactful results.
- Build trusted relationships with customers and partners by understanding their goals, challenges, and priorities.
- Deliver impactful presentations to a variety of audiences, including developers, DevOps teams, middle management, and occasionally C-level stakeholders.
- Contribute to the broader SE community by hosting webinars, organizing meetups, and authoring technical whitepapers.
- Mentor junior team members and support marketing and community awareness events.
- Drive internal enhancements to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Technical Expertise in Solutions Deployment: Proven ability to deploy multi-service solutions across on-premise and multi-cloud environments, with experience in SDK languages and APIs.
- Consultative Selling and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to influence discussions and deliver tailored presentations and workshops.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building: Experience working cross-functionally to align technical efforts with business priorities and enable success for both internal and external stakeholders.
- 4+ years of experience in solutions engineering or a related customer-facing technical role.
- Hands-on software development experience with proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience designing solutions with databases (e.g., Couchbase, MongoDB, SQL) and optimizing performance.
- Proficiency in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with DevOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and API integration (REST, GraphQL).
- Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and Generative AI, RAG and AI Agents.
