The SMB Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales (SE) role is a dynamic and varied customer focused technical position. The SE works closely with the Account Executive (AE) as a part of the Go To Market team to provide technical and cyber defense expertise in the pre-sale process.
Responsibilities
- Being accountable for the technical engagement of the Proof of Value (POV) (pre-sales technical trial) from end to end
- Designing, documenting, and communicating solution architectures for Darktrace POV deployments and full contract deployments
- Presenting Threat Intelligence Reports and advice to a variety of audiences, from technical audiences to C-level executives
- Recommending and deploying integrations as needed for best-practice
- Acting as a technical point of contact between clients, partners, and internal teams within Darktrace
- Working closely with teammates on the Account Executive team
- Driving a value-selling approach to work towards a technical win state for deals
- Assisting with and participating in forecasting
- Transitioning closed accounts smoothly and successfully to post-sales account management teams (SEs, CIEs, CSMs, etc)
- Engaging with the Channel team to act as a technical touch point between clients and partners
- Staying up to date on all Darktrace products and software versions to own the technical relationship with the client and provide up-to-date expertise
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven technical ability via a technical degree program, cybersecurity certification, or commensurate experience
- Knowledge of technical language (computer networking and cybersecurity)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences, and presentation skills in a customer-facing context
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an innovative and fast-paced environment whilst delivering to deadlines
- Enthusiasm for innovation, experimentation and self-development in the cybersecurity field
Additional Details:
· This role is fully remote, however it is preferred that the individual is located near one of the Darktrace SMB hub offices (Los Angeles, CA) and would be able to be physically present in that office occasionally and as appropriate in working with the sales team (for example, annual Sales Kick Off, possible trainings/events held on approximately a quarterly basis.)
