Solutions Engineer (Contract)

About the role: 10a Labs is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer for a four month contract (potential to extend) to partner closely with enterprise customers, developers, and internal teams to design and implement cutting-edge AI solutions. You’ll bridge the gap between engineering and post-sales customer success, helping organizations integrate language models into real-world applications that are scalable, secure, and transformative. You will work with business and technical teams to demonstrate the value of our solutions and recommend architectural patterns and deployments to our customers post-implementation. 

This role blends technical depth, product sense, and customer empathy. You’ll design architectures, prototype integrations, and advise on on-premise technical best practices and customer needs. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), remote position with the opportunity to work in person as needed. 

In this role, you will: 

• Design and deliver exceptional on-prem solutions to enhance post-sales customer experience. 
• Provide expertise and implement solution architectures leveraging AI APIs, vector stores, and message queues to enable scalable, low-latency applications. 
• Serve as technical expert to customers integrating AI APIs and platform capabilities across various products and solutions. 
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and harden customer deployments.
• Provide technical feedback to product and engineering teams to improve the developer experience.
• Create and maintain clear documentation, guides, FAQs, architecture diagrams, and reference implementations related to common questions and requirements.

We’re looking for someone who: 

• Has experience in technical consulting, solutions architecture, solutions engineering, or a similar type technical role working alongside multiple stakeholders.
• Understands data privacy, model evaluations, managing relationships with large, global and complex organizations, preferably working with a technical enterprise product. 
• Operates with autonomy and has strong problem solving skills, and has the ability to effectively manage working on multiple projects at once with frequent updates.  
• Communicates well cross-functionally to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Is collaborative, detailed-oriented, and thrives in fast-moving, high-impact environments. 

Requirements:

• At least 3-5+ years of experience in technical consulting, solutions architecture or similar solutions engineering roles.
• Strong applied AI experience, working knowledge and experience with Generative AI, machine learning systems, and AI APIS.
• Experience specifically with local, self-hosted, or on-prem AI solutions. 
• Experience with vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, Milvus) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures. 
• Experience with general infrastructure systems that are often used in tandem with AI systems, e.g. message queues, distributed event streaming platforms (Kafka), or durable execution platforms (Temporal). 
• Experience providing higher level security and compliance support as well as a thorough understanding and knowledge of IT security principles and customer requirements for similar technical B2B SaaS projects and solutions. 
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders.
