The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $90,750 - $133,100 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:This is What you Will Do:- Guide the development of warehouse automation and systems related to material handling opportunities from initial concept through proposal submission.
- Apply expertise in material handling systems, controls, warehouse control software (WCS), and distribution center operations to develop efficient automation solutions.
- Develop system concepts, layouts, proposal drawings, and supporting technical documentation.
- Evaluate alternative builds and technologies to optimize system performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Lead engineering efforts encompassing project planning, prioritization, resource coordination, technical implementation, and risk management.
- Develop accurate system cost estimates, CCQR quotations, cost breakouts, and bridging analyses.
- Identify key assumptions, dependencies, risks, and approaches to manage them throughout the solution development process.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Controls, Software, Procurement, Operations, and customers to align solution strategy and execution.
- Support proposal development and customer presentations by clearly communicating technical concepts and solution value.
- Drive continuous improvement through value engineering, process enhancements, standards compliance, and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to support organizational capability and solution quality.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal collaborators while supporting business growth and customer success.
This Is What we are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical area, or equivalent experience.
- More than 5 years of experience in material handling, warehouse automation, systems engineering, solution development, or a comparable technical area.
- Extensive knowledge of material handling systems, warehouse automation technologies, and distribution center operations.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, controls architecture, warehouse control software (WCS), and coordinated automation solutions.
- Experience in solution architecture, system development, estimation, risk evaluation, and data-informed decision-making.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capability to review operational data and formulate effective engineering suggestions.
- Proven experience overseeing projects, including planning, prioritization, resource coordination, and risk management.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities, capable of conveying complex technical ideas to varied audiences.
- Experience influencing collaborators and building positive relationships across customer and internal teams.
- Experience supporting automated distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
