As a Data Engineer II in the IT organisation, you’ll join a skilled Data & AI team to design and deliver data warehouse and AI solutions, services, and tools. Your work will help democratise data, empower business teams, and enhance client experiences through technology. The Europe and Asia Client Group (EACG) Technology team manages in-house and vendor products. As a Data Engineer, you will be collaborating closely to deliver clients’ needs and developing data and AI driven solutions to enable them to gather insights and make informed decisions. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving EACG growth through modern products and services, built on a strong data foundation across Digital, Content, Sales Enablement, and Investment Product.

Based in our London office, you will have frequent interactions with Sales, Marketing, and Investment Operations teams. Your key focus would be to support our business operations in London, but you will have opportunities to build data solutions for Europe and Asia client groups across different business areas.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the design and implementation of data, analytics and AI products of medium to high complexity.

  • Write, maintain, and improve code, data quality, data processing pipelines, and various data access patterns to enable both technical and non-technical users to leverage data.

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data processing pipelines, including ingestion, data modelling, and curation using Databricks

  • Perform code quality assurance activities and testing of both functional and non-functional aspects.

  • Engage with supporting teams such as Cloud, Security, and Architecture to design, build, and support data platforms.

  • Integrate with the business and leverage technology solutions to amplify capabilities.

  • Actively engage with stakeholders to develop a detailed understanding of their requirements.

  • Partner with business domain leaders to understand and apply broad knowledge of business strategies / challenges, translating them into high-class technical design solutions.

  • Provide technical recommendations on projects and incorporate best practices.

  • Ensure the quality and supportability of the resulting solution.

Your background and who you are:

  • You have a background in data engineering, analytics and AI, with a passion to learn.

  • You approach projects, tasks, and unknowns with curiosity and enjoy sharing your knowledge.

  • You believe in the strength of a diverse team and are accountable for business outcomes through shared business result ownership.

  • You can put yourself in your customer’s shoes and frequently immerse yourself in the customer experience to better serve them.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (preferred) or a related technical field.

  • At least 3-5 years of working experience in SQL, ETL tools ,PowerBI, Alteryx, SSRS, PowerBI, AWS, Azure, Databricks, ReactJS, Angular, Rest API Services, Python. Databricks Certifications preferred.

  • At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience building AI solutions, including model development, deployment, and monitoring.

  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI, and AWS AI services is highly desirable.

  • Comfortable with multi-tasking and working as part of a global team, as well as independently.

  • Passionate about data and keeping abreast with data technologies.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise data strategy and related business areas.

  • Ability to provide technical direction, guidance, and oversight of vendor solutions and integrations.

  • Agile mindset and passion for designing product user experiences

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
