Solutions Architect Description
As a Solutions Architect, you’ll be the technical champion for our customers, combining hands-on execution, systems integration expertise, and strategic thinking to ensure smooth onboarding, workflow automation, and successful platform adoption. You’ll collaborate closely with AEs and CSMs to solve complex technical challenges, deliver integrations, and enable clients to get the most out of OpenAsset.
Solutions Architect Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Technical Scoping
- Partner with AEs during pre-sales to lead technical discovery, understand client workflows, and design solutions for data migration, integrations, and automation.
- Advise on technical feasibility and scope projects accurately to set realistic client expectations.
- Deliver Proofs of Concept that demonstrate solutions in action, accelerate onboarding readiness, and provide confidence to stakeholders.
- Influence deal outcomes by providing strategic guidance on system design, integrations, and workflow optimization.
Customer Lifecycle Management (Configuration & Onboarding)
- Own end-to-end customer configuration across the implementation lifecycle—designing and automating templates, setting up connectors, managing file migrations, and implementing API-based integrations—while collaborating with Support Engineers as needed.
- Prepare and ingest project files, employee data, and asset libraries to enable DAM workflows and automated RFP responses.
- Configure and validate integrations with CRMs, ERPs, and CMSs (e.g., Deltek, Unanet, Microsoft Dynamics, WordPress) using APIs, accurate field mapping, and metadata.
- Co-lead kickoff, handoff, and ongoing technical sessions with AEs and CSMs, serving as a trusted advisor throughout pre-sales and post-sales engagement.
- Scope, develop, and automate templates using Python and JavaScript scripts in InDesign, supporting custom InDesign plug-ins as required.
Scripting, Automation & Internal Tooling
- Build and maintain Python and JavaScript scripts for template automation, data ingestion, and workflow processes.
- Implement and maintain Linux-based scripts, network programming solutions, and API integrations to support automation and large-scale workflows.
- Analyze HTTP server logs, network requests, and status codes to troubleshoot integrations and data transfer issues.
- Develop internal tools to improve operational efficiency, standardize processes, and document repeatable workflows.
- Manage version control and documentation via GitHub.
Solutions Architect Skills and Experience
Technical Expertise
- Expert in Python and JavaScript.
- Working knowledge of APIs, network programming, and Linux environments.
- Experience parsing HTTP server logs and interpreting HTTP codes for troubleshooting.
- Cloud, local, and network storage experience (S3, Dropbox, Hightail, network drives).
- Hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign plug-ins, WordPress plug-ins, and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with AEC software (Deltek, Unanet, Microsoft Dynamics) and DAM workflows.
Customer-Facing Skills
- Translate technical requirements into high-impact implementations.
- Co-lead client-facing calls as a trusted technical advisor.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple onboarding projects, integrations, templates, and POCs concurrently.
Education & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred; technical bootcamp with portfolio considered.
- 3+ years in technical onboarding, SaaS implementation, or solutions engineering; preferably B2B SaaS in AEC.
- Experience with Salesforce, Catalyst, or similar CSPs preferred; Zendesk experience a plus.
