We are seeking a Solution Architect to design and implement enterprise business solutions and data platforms on Microsoft Azure. In this role, you will work closely with developers, data engineers, and cloud engineers to build and enhance the Practice Intelligence platform, built on a data lake architecture. You will help ensure solutions are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational standards and industry best practices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Application and Data Solution Architecture•Design and architect enterprise business solutions using Microsoft Azure services

•Integrate Azure OpenAI Service into applications to support intelligent features and AI-driven workflows

•Manage and optimize Azure resources that support solution development, including Azure Functions, Storage Accounts, and Azure OpenAI deployments

•Use the ScaledSense platform to support resource scaling, cost optimization, and operational insights across application environments

•Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments

•Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using DevOps and GitHub Actions

•Monitor system performance, resource usage, and cost metrics for Azure-hosted solutions and identify optimization opportunities

• Create architectural blueprints, technical specifications, and design documentation for custom developed integrations, systems, and business solutions in Azure


Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with developers, data engineers, and cloud engineers to support application development, data integration, and deployment into the firm’s Azure environment

• Provide technical guidance on Azure best practices, design patterns, and technology standards to support consistent solution design

• Partner with Cloud Engineering to define and enforce Azure governance, security controls, and compliance standards

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Application and Compute: Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

• Data and Storage: Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Storage

• Integration and APIs: Azure API Management, Azure Data Factory

• DevOps and Automation: CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Terraform (IaC) for Git-based repositories

• Monitoring and Management: Azure Monitor, Application Insights

• Security and Identity: Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), Azure Key Vault, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)


PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS

•Experience with React application architecture, microservices, application programming interface (API) design, and Representational State Transfer (REST) services

•Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and DevOps practices

•Proven experience designing enterprise-scale solutions, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment

•Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or an equivalent industry-recognized certification

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

•Eight to ten years of hands-on experience in solution architecture, system architecture, or engineering roles

COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION

•Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, including attorneys and support teams

•Lead discussions, influence decisions, and build consensus across technical and non-technical teams

•Follow established project management methodologies

•Accurately track and report time spent on project work

•Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment

•Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

•Perform essential duties under time constraints, interruptions, and pressure

Salary Range:

The salary offered in any location will be determined by a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, education/training, geographic region, and relevant skills.  Associates also participate in a performance- and hours-based bonus program. The salary range for this role is $150,000-160,000/year.
