Job Description
Join a dynamic and innovative team at the forefront of mission-critical communications. We are responsible for delivering advanced Push-to-Talk (PTT) solutions over broadband with seamless interoperability to Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems. As a Network and Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers our services.
The ideal candidate is a skilled and proactive individual with a strong background in IP networking, a deep understanding of cloud-native technologies, and an interest in cybersecurity. In addition to core engineering duties, you will take ownership of hardware ordering and security vulnerability management, making this a pivotal role within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain robust IP network infrastructure, including switches and firewalls.
Manage and support virtualization and containerized environments, with a focus on cloud-native platforms like OpenShift and Podman.
Lead the hardware ordering process for the team, utilizing the Motorola CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) system.
Monitor and manage security-related issues, including vulnerability management for customer-facing solutions.
Ensure the reliable and secure interoperability between broadband PTT solutions and Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and contribute to solution architecture.
Basic Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Engineeing
In-depth knowledge of IP networking principles and practical experience with switches and firewalls.
Demonstrated experience with virtualization technologies and container platforms.
Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, such as OpenShift or Podman.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system maintenance and security.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (A Plus)
Certifications:
CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+
CCNA or CCNP
Juniper, FortiGate, or Extreme Networks certifications
Engineering Expertise:
Experience with datacenter engineering, including server connectivity (Ethernet vs. fiber) and adapters.
A strong interest or background in cybersecurity.
Relevant Experience:
Previous experience with Push-to-Talk (PTT) over broadband or Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems.
Familiarity with hardware ordering processes and CPQ systems.
