Position SummarySUMMARY

The Site Operations Team is responsible for tier 2 lottery system and Interactive service operations support for lottery jurisdictions. This includes support for various operating systems, relational database management systems, and web hosting in a virtual environment as well as proprietary software support. The Solutions Architect works closely with the customer and other Scientific Games teams to ensure SG platforms remain current and secure, and that they evolve to meet future functional and performance requirements. The architect must demonstrate a high degree of initiative, and be able to work alone and in a team environment.
This position is based in Moncton, NB.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop & Maintain Technology Roadmaps – Create and manage technology refresh plans for SG platforms and supporting technologies to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Lead Operational Initiatives – Oversee major upgrades, annual performance benchmarking, and ongoing capacity planning to optimize system performance.
- Drive Technology Adoption – Collaborate with corporate teams to implement current technologies and best practices within the client environment.
- Ensure System Security – Proactively plan and coordinate security measures to safeguard SG applications and systems.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Provide technical expertise and support for system enhancements and project delivery.
- Guide Software Development Life Cycle – Offer technical input from ideation through production implementation, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Resolve Technical Challenges – Work closely with project teams, customers, and third parties to identify and address technical issues across the entire solution.
- Support Incident Management – Assist in responding to major operational incidents as needed, ensuring minimal disruption and swift resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 years in a technical architect or similar role, supporting enterprise-scale transactional platforms.
- Proven experience as a technical lead on complex projects, overseeing overall solution architecture.
- Strong background in developing and maintaining architecture models and roadmaps.
- Experience researching and applying industry best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Industry experience in lottery and gaming is a strong asset.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency with various operating systems, including Windows and multiple Linux distributions.
- Deep understanding of multi-tier architecture systems.
- Knowledge of data storage and management systems (RDBMS and NoSQL), including SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure virtualization (VMware) and Storage Area Networks (SAN).
- Solid understanding of network communications fundamentals.
- Soft Skills & Additional Requirements:
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual proficiency (English & French) is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable collaborating within a distributed team across multiple geographic locations.
