Primary Functions
- Sales Engineering
- Ensure Sales is effectively supported including, but not limited to, customer calls, working with sales to shape a deal, and preparing material for ARB and other governance gates.
- Collaborate with the Proposals team to draft written responses for RFPs, RFIs and other RFX’s as well as being part of the SOW creation and review process including management tools (AskSmile) used in this process.
- Build and maintain sales demos (including the infrastructure and data assets) for customer engagements and tradeshows.
- Solution Architecture
- Work closely with Engineering and leaders to provide high level solution design and formalize new ideas.
- Collaborate with Product and Client architects to discuss optimal product designs.
- Support the Implementation and Product teams including, but not limited to, implementation architecture work (as needed) and/or supporting assigned implementation architects as consultants.
- Fulfill the role of an embedded architect for customer projects, as needed, for billable work.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to create, review and improve product requirements including implementation of a repeatable requirements management process with requirements traceability and auditability.
- Enterprise Architecture
- Conduct ARB sessions, participate in process improvement for governance gates, define criteria for making governance decisions, and develop architecture recommendations to inform go/no-go decisions at each ARB gate.
- Develop and maintain artifacts such as principles, best practices, approved design patterns, technical strategies, approved tools / standards for development purposes, and a catalog of common implementation/configuration profiles.
- Develop and maintain target state architectures, roadmaps and reference architectures for all common implementation/configuration profiles.
- Develop and maintain playbooks for product architecture and design that describe how to implement a set of design principles and patterns for a new product.
- Develop and maintain playbooks for implementation architecture that describe how to implement a reference architecture for an implementation profile – aka, a class of customers with similar implementation requirements. This could include the creation of HELM charts to deploy and configure products based on common profiles.
- Partner and vendor assessments: as part of the expanded role of the ARB, define partner assessment criteria and do company/product reviews to vet potential partners. This is focused mostly on Product Partners than on Resellers or Implementation Partners.
- Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in Klient on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked as billable and that the project management tool in Klient is properly and fully utilized.
- Comply with the privacy, security and confidentiality policies.
Prerequisites
- Post secondary education in Computer Science or related field.
- 5-10+ years experience within the technology field, with demonstrated proficiency as a thought leader.
- Experience with electronic information exchange, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Solid understanding of a variety of standards, programming tools and development platforms such as microservices architecture, and scalable enterprise-caliber solutions (HL7 FHIR experience is preferred but not required).
- Previous experience working within a health care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and cultivate strong partnerships with clients, technical teams and internal business partners from all disciplines with all levels of experience.
- Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Highly analytical mindset, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details.
- Formal IT architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF) are beneficial but not required.
