The Opportunity
Our Solutions Architects help customers succeed in implementing Grass Valley Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP) workflows. Our team of architects use their deep knowledge of elastic tools and products while partnering with Sales and Engineering teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of GV AMPP services. Making customer success a reality is our “every day” and our teams deliver to enable customers to innovate by leveraging the power behind the GV AMPP Platform.
This role may be based in Canada, or the USA.
Your Role
- Participate in deep architectural discussions and design sessions with customers to create world-class solutions proposals build on AMPP technology
- In cooperation with Sales, facilitate and document Field Trials (Proof of Concepts) in the customer’s network with Grass Valley products and solution value streams. Document current state, identify and missing features, leading to a Business Case for change.
- Provide customers with the definition of technical strategies that will enable them to maximize their operation on the AMPP platform
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals with customers to enable them to be AMPP advocates
- Provide architectural guidance and recommendations on running applications efficiently and reliably on the AMPP platform
- Report progress on a regular basis, using the tools provided to ensure accurate and up to date information is available to key stakeholders
- Contribute to the evolution of Grass Valley’s cloud and managed services growth globally, supporting business planning, Go to Market offerings, and enterprise technology strategies
- Create solution designs based on customer workflow needs
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AMPP solutions architects and wider Grass Valley teams
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers, as and when required.
Technical Expertise
- Proactively keep technical and application knowledge of Grass Valley’s product and solution value stream portfolio up to date and current, keeping abreast of new technological advances in the defined vertical market(s) to ensure all aspects can be supported
- Provide technical expertise to the Sales team when listening to and understanding the needs of the customer
- Provide timely input into training materials to ensure high quality knowledge transfer
- Provide guidance to Service teams during hand-off phase to ensure customer expectations are met and any nuances are identified
Teamwork
- Build close working relationships within the company to ensure successful cross-functional working and timely resolution of issues
- Identify key influencers
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with key technical influencers and decision makers with customers – both current and new target companies and their value chains.
- Actively contribute to development and execution of account plans to meet customer needs, as and when required.
- Provide fact-based input to Sales, Marketing, and the Business Units to help identify new customer requirements
- Report progress on a regular basis, using the tools provided (SFDC, Account Plan)
What You Have to Offer
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors or Advanced Degree Preferred relevant to the role or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience working within the broadcast and/or Media & Entertainment space, ideally within an international organization
- 1+ years’ experience leading and/or working with the design, implementation, or consulting of applications and infrastructures supporting cloud-based workflows
- Proven track record performing a role within the M&E space, ideally within an international organization
- Direct experience in the architecture of Public / Private / Hybrid Cloud and DevOps platforms
- Cloud certifications preferred, such as:
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification
- AWS Architect Certification
- Azure Fundamentals
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Functional knowledge and experience of project governance, such as time management and scope control
- General PC knowledge and experience in typical MS business applications needed (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project). Preferred working knowledge of SalesForce.com, and work management software applications
- Ability to think holistically across the entire media supply chain, with strong and current knowledge of Live Broadcast, Media Asset Management, and Playout disciplines
- Demonstrate fantastic communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Must have the ability to translate complex, technical data into comprehensible conversation.
- Speaks clearly and confidently in positive or negative situations. Responds well to questions and is comfortable speaking in front of large audiences.
- Excellent customer management skills
- Functional knowledge of sales processes and financial modeling
- Does well in technical courses and seminars
- Pursues everything with energy, drive, and a need to finish; seldom gives up before finishing, especially in the face of resistance or setbacks.

Working Conditions
- Ability to support heavy computer usage, including repetitive hand use and movement, is required for extended periods of time
- This position involves up to 25% travel time (Domestic and International)
