Summary
In this role, you will serve as a Solutions Architect within Vizient’s Platform Engineering organization, designing and delivering scalable, secure, and reusable solutions that support enterprise platforms, applications, and data services. You will partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, CloudOps, Security, and IT teams to ensure solutions are well-architected, aligned with enterprise strategy, and built using modern cloud-native and AI-enabled patterns. This role blends strong systems design expertise with hands-on technical depth, enabling you to influence architecture standards while guiding teams through complex, end-to-end solution designs.
Responsibilities
Design end-to-end Platform components, solutions and reference architectures spanning applications, APIs, integrations, data platforms, identity, AI, and cloud infrastructure.
Hands-on development to build proofs of concept (POCs), automation scripts, tools, and reference implementations across application, data, security, AI, and integration use cases.
Conduct architecture and design sessions with engineering teams and product stakeholders.
Simplify complexities, build analogies, gain stakeholder buy-in while aligning with Platform vision.
Connect strategy to action while navigating within a matrix structure and understanding organizational, departmental and platform strategies, policies and standards.
Owner the designs from functional, non-functional, operational, risks and economic aspects.
Fluent in executive-level communication and presentations, while being contributor, mentor and learner in technology space.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
10 or more years of software engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in software architecture or systems design roles.
Past development hands-on experience across all tiers, with recent hands-on experience designing, building, or integrating AI-enabled solutions.
Strong diagramming, presentation, and technical communication skills.
Practical knowledge in Data, Ontology, Apps, AI, Middleware, Security, Infrastructure and Cloud architecture.
Experience with data/ontology modeling, data engineering, knowledge graphs, frontend frameworks, APIs, process and event orchestration, middleware, runtime solutions leveraging AI, IaC, kubernetes, and FGA.
Experience with AI platform and architecture patterns with focus on Graph RAG, OBO/Agent Identity, HITL, and agent orchestration.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
