ABOUT OUR TEAM

We are a remote-first team that sits across Europe and North America and comes together once a month in-person for 3 days and for longer offsites twice a year.

Our R&D and production teams are a combination of more research and more engineering-oriented profiles, however, everyone deeply cares about the quality of the systems we build and has a strong underlying knowledge of software development. We believe that good engineering leads to faster development iterations, which allows us to compound our efforts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Solutions Architect role at Poolside is a uniquely hands-on position that blends deep technical execution with high-impact customer engagement.

As a Poolside SA, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of how our AI platform is deployed into large enterprise and government environments. You’ll work directly with customers to design, deploy, and support highly secure and performant infrastructure—often tailoring Terraform and Kubernetes configurations to fit mission-specific requirements.

Beyond implementation, you’ll also help evolve how Poolside is deployed across air-gapped, hybrid, and cloud environments—shaping our deployment architecture as we scale into new markets.

This is not a pre-sales demo role. It’s a hybrid between solution design, DevOps, and deployment engineering—ideal for someone who enjoys building, automating, and troubleshooting real systems in production.

YOUR MISSION

Ensure every Poolside customer achieves a fast, reliable, and secure deployment—whether in AWS, private cloud, or fully air-gapped environments—while continuously improving our deployment tooling and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect & Deploy: Design and customize Poolside deployments across Kubernetes and Terraform-based environments (cloud, hybrid, on-prem).

  • Troubleshoot & Optimize: Diagnose complex infrastructure and networking issues across clusters, storage, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Automate & Improve: Build automation workflows using Ansible, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD to streamline provisioning, upgrades, and monitoring.

  • Collaborate & Guide: Work directly with customer DevOps and security teams to ensure compliance, reliability, and observability.

  • Evolve the Platform: Contribute to Poolside’s core deployment framework—improving standardization, resilience, and operator experience.

  • Document & Share: Maintain clear runbooks, deployment guides, and internal documentation for repeatable success.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (Helm, operators, manifests, troubleshooting pods, services, ingress, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP also valuable)

  • Deep understanding of networking, load balancing, DNS, and certificates

  • Comfort with Linux, Docker, Git, and modern DevOps workflows

  • Familiarity with monitoring & observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, etc.)

  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, ArgoCD, or GitHub Actions

  • Strong debugging and process-of-elimination troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication—able to bridge engineering detail and customer context

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience deploying or securing AI/ML systems in production

  • Familiarity with RKE2, air-gapped environments, and STIG-hardened operating systems

  • Programming knowledge in Python, Go, or Bash

  • Background in government, defense, or regulated industries

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

Poolside SAs aren’t just supporting customers—they’re shaping how our platform is delivered to the world’s most demanding environments. You’ll operate at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, product development, and customer impact, helping define what enterprise-grade AI deployment looks like.
