Job Title: Solutions Architect, Business Transformation
Job Description: The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions that meet the complex needs of our internal customers. This role requires a deep understanding of business needs, data engineering, cloud computing, networking, and storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with internal teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.
Essential Job Functions
Solution Design and Architecture:
- Design and architect customized data solutions that meet specific internal customer requirements, including compute, storage, networking, and cloud integration.
- Develop high-level and detailed designs in collaboration with IT, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of the solutions.
Internal Customer Engagement and Requirements Gathering:
- Engage with internal customers to understand their business needs, technical requirements, and challenges.
- Conduct detailed requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical specifications.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept and design to implementation and post-deployment support.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other internal teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions and change.
Technology Evaluation and Selection:
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, products, and services that align with internal customer needs and industry standard methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the industry to inform solution design.
Proof of Concept and Testing:
- Develop and lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives to validate proposed solutions.
- Communicate benefits of new concepts to internal teams and gauge readiness.
- Oversee testing and validation of solutions to ensure they meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of solution designs, configurations, and deployment procedures.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams on the implemented solutions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving solution design processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for solution architecture within the organization.
- Advise on business risks and deficiencies with actionable recommendations to leadership.
Additional Duties:
Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a role of developing technical solutions for internal use, with a focus on data engineering, application development, and analytics.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex technical solutions in the data analytics or technology industry.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong understanding of data systems technologies, including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of organizational change management, including communication, alignment, training, and post launch support.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design scalable and reliable solutions.
- Proficiency in architectural frameworks, design patterns, and solution modeling tools.
- Strong communication and social skills, with the ability to engage with internal teams effectively.
- Strategic problem solver with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
