Job Description:

Client is looking for a Solution Architect that has significant experience in creating software architectures and products. The ideal candidate would bring latest technology trends to the table, and can independently design new systems and successfully develop new products. They will closely work with product management, operations and other teams to gain a clear understanding of business requirements to deliver world-class solution architectures and technology solutions for all product lines.

Responsibilities:

• knowledge of tech industry best practices, technologies, architectures, design patterns and emerging technologies to develop and maintain a technical road map for the company
• Assist in technology selection by confirming that the choices are viable by understanding the alternatives and factors that distinguish them and what technical issues are key to the project's success
• Highlight short-term trade-offs vs long-term commitments and where those are worth implementing or not. Ensure that the solutions are scale-able (technology), efficient (process), effective (cost), and supportable
• Drive to resolution enterprise technical problems through collaboration with other technical leaders - Lead the organization through change
• Evaluate tools and provide expert recommendations and decisions clearly linked to the organization's strategy and financial goals
• Establish a vision that inspires the continuous improvement of our software development process to create a more reliable and robust solutions by leveraging automation
• Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions
• Develop and maintain current and planned state architectural blueprints, sharing the vision behind architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies and acting as the focal point for enterprise architecture and IT standards
• Work closely with Product Managers to understand and convert business needs into workable technical solutions
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, champion innovation and proof-of-concept data projects

Personal Requirements:

• 15+ years of full stack software development experience including 5+ years of application architecture experience in large scale data platforms
• Successful track record of leading architecture work that represent broad strategic initiatives, meeting quantifiable business objectives and resulting in tangible impact for the organization
• Demonstrated expertise in leveraging agile and other development
• Able to develop, present and explain the value and vision of proposed architectures and solutions to a wide range of audiences
• Experience in modern cloud solution architecture, design, and development preferred
• Strong knowledge and hands on implementation experience on one or more of the clouds - AWS/Azure/GCP
• Experience leading teams of technical architects, serving as a positive role model for the team through coaching and mentoring
• Proven experience working with business stakeholders to translate product vision into technical road maps
• Proven experience architecting big data processing on complex distributed computing platforms
• Expertise in one or more of the following languages - Java, Ruby on Rails, Node JS, Python, JavaScript
• Deep familiarity with Agile Scrum/Kanban methodology
• Big thinker that is tenacious about continuous learning with an innovation mindset
• Experience with one or more of the database technologies both relational and NoSQL (PostgreSQL/SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL and MongoDB/Dynamo DB/Cassandra)
• Exposure to UX/UI best practices and their application in the development cycle
• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
• Must have experience building, testing and deploying Micro services on any cloud platform
• Transportation and Logistics industry experience highly desirable
