The Opportunity
“We are looking for a passionate results-oriented Software Engineer who will be part of our team responsible for maintaining and ongoing enhancement of our Origination solution to Business needs.
We are seeking individuals who are hands on, pragmatic, always looking to apply your know-how in how to streamline development and QA. You will need to become proficient in the use of FICO Products ( GUI builder, Decisioning Engine and Streaming Platform) that our Origination Platform is based on. Demonstrable experience in full life cycle of designing, developing and implementing enterprise and scalable solutions that run on AWS cloud and comfortable in understanding and use of NoSQL (Aurora a plus), Java, Javascript and fundamentals of cloud computing. What You’ll Contribute
- Designs, build and configures technical solutions that satisfy client requirements.
- Experienced and well versed in understanding and applying Software Development principles.
- Participates in code reviews on completed work to ensure high quality releases.
- Gain expert-level knowledge of our product architecture and workflows.
- Acquire that knowledge by getting hands-on involved in delivering projects.
- Reviews requirements prepares technical specifications and provides detailed and accurate estimates for effort required to complete implementation tasks.
- Interacts with Project Manager and Business Analysts to clarify any questions or gaps regarding requirements.
- Ability to react and think quickly to handle high priority issues raised by our business and Strategy teams.
- Mentors and educates fellow team members on technical aspects and best practices.
- Contribute to defining and implementing best-practice technical processes, practices and procedures.
- Follow established software development methodology, guidelines and standards on applications been developed.
- Regularly reassess current processes and refactor if required.
- Collaborate with other teams, including QA, Strategy, Fraud, Business and IT Production Support to release software.
- Communicate project details, issues, challenges to Project Manager.
- Proactively suggests solutions to overcome challenges.
- Promotes Application(s) from Development, QA, Customer QA and Production by leveraging Promotion process.
- Provide technical support as required to stakeholder teams (Strategy, Fraud, Business and IT) as needed.
What We’re Seeking
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer engagement skills.
- Knowledge and proficient use of Java, JavaScript, NoSQL and Decisioning Engine such as FICO Decision Modeler (Structured Query Language) .
- Experience of maintaining and enhancing scalable, high performing and robust system(s) that support critical business processes.
- Experience with big data methodologies.
- Experience with NoSql technologies such as Aurora.
- Advanced scripting skills in at least one of the following: Python, Perl or Shell and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and related tools (i.e. Jenkins, Hudson, Maven).
- Experience with Source Code Management Tools (GitHUB, SVN, CVS, Clearcase).
- Experience implementing browser-based UI.
- Ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic, fluid environment.
- Working knowledge of RDBMS e.g. MySQL, Oracle.
- Experience with Performance, Load, Stress and Scalability Testing.
- Implementation of automated testing frameworks.
- Broad awareness of open source & AWS Cloud technologies.
