Job Description:

The Corporate Technology Solution Engineer/ Business Translator plays a critical role in enabling Mars’ sustainability ambition by bridging corporate strategy, regulatory requirements, and digital technology delivery.

This role partners closely with Sustainability, Risk, Legal, and Corporate teams to translate regulatory, reporting, and performance needs into practical, scalable digital solutions that support environmental impact measurement, transparency, and decision‑making.

The role operates with defined scope and moderate autonomy, owning delivery alignment for specific domains, initiatives, or platforms while contributing to broader corporate technology roadmaps under senior guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary digital technology partner to Sustainability and related corporate functions (e.g., Risk, Legal, Sustainability).

  • Develop a strong understanding of Mars sustainability priorities, including climate, packaging, nature, and human rights topics.

  • Support business teams in translating sustainability goals and regulatory obligations into clear digital enablement needs.

  • Work with key business stakeholders to create proof of concept solutions leveraging basic coding and Power BI

  • Translate sustainability‑driven needs (e.g., GHG reporting, regulatory disclosures, supplier data, impact metrics) into structured problem statements, functional requirements, and success measures.

  • Help shift stakeholders from “tool requests” toward outcome‑based sustainability solutions.

  • Support prioritization by assessing regulatory urgency, business impact, feasibility, and delivery complexity.

  • Ensure requirements are clearly understood by delivery teams and aligned to enterprise standards.

  • Contribute to solution design for sustainability platforms and tools (e.g., emissions calculation, data ingestion, reporting, analytics).

  • Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and vendors to shape fit‑for‑purpose, scalable solutions.

  • Ensure sustainability solutions address data quality, auditability, security, traceability, and compliance needs.

  • Translate high‑level designs into delivery‑ready artifacts (epics, features, acceptance criteria).

Job Specifications/Qualifications:

Education & Professional Qualification:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree 

  • Desired: PMI / PRINCE certifications; PMP / PgMP / PfMP / PRINCE2 

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 5 years + of solution engineer experience focusing on cross-platform Data and Analytics solutions 

  • Understanding of digital platforms, data pipelines, and analytics in an enterprise environment.  

  • Ability to engage meaningfully in solution design discussions (technical fluency rather than coding).  

  • Analytical mindset with attention to data quality, controls, and traceability. 

  • Experience in system integration lifecycle including system design and deployment, systems integration, data migration, and data model design. 

  • A track record of having led multiple medium and complex digital analytics platforms 

  • Ability to remain flexible and resilient under pressure and comfortable in dealing with ambiguity in a fast-moving portfolio of activity. 

  • Programming/scripting experience is a plus.  

  • Familiarity with automation and low-code/no-code platforms awareness, such as – SNOW, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, Power Apps etc. 

  • Familiarity with sustainability management platforms/tools ( Environmental impact assessment, carbon accounting, regulatory compliance etc.) 

  • Awareness of sustainability regulatory compliance
