• The role is responsible in providing direction, inputs, and sign-off on projects which can affect assigned domain/s.

• He needs to ensure the overall integrity, sustainability, and robustness of system design across the entire system’s development lifecycle.

• He needs to have knowledge of the existing technology landscape and align the design and recommendations with the company's overall systems strategy and any applicable IT standards.

• Role will be focused around designing a solution that is as elegant, optimized, modularized and reusable as possible --ensuring the design is flexible and extensible.

• Handles area/s within a specific domain. Designs solutions to solve business problems in the area assigned to him.

• Works closely with the Project Teams on developing Solutions and guiding Systems Analysts and Developers, ensuring that what they develop as code adheres to the Design approved.

Main responsibilities

• Establishes domain expertise and serve as solutions subject matter expert.

• Provides design direction and recommendations in terms of software solutions, infrastructure, methodologies, skills and talents, and innovation.

• Works with Project Teams, Enterprise Architect, and different IT teams in creating holistic solutions across several domains.

• Acts as custodian of Design and Development best practices which will need to be cascaded and upheld to the development teams.

• Co-creates architecture submissions along with the project teams and aligns with Architecture Team prior to presentation.

• Perform proof of concepts needed to support the viability of the proposed solution.

• Can do development tasks as needed to augment the development team.

Knowledge

• Systems Development Life Cycles, its stages, major tasks and deliverables

• Agile / Waterfall methodogies

• Insurance principles and terminology, SLF products, policies and procedures

• At least 4 year experience in system analysis, solutioning and coding preferably in insurance or financial industry

• Have experience in any of the following capabilities to support insurance business:
    - Client on-boarding
    - Advisor on-boarding
    - Insurance after-sales administration
    - Financial payment and disbursement
    - Accounting and other financial fields

Core Professional / Technical Competencies Required

• Must have strong analytical and conceptual skills, good interviewing skills (for design presentation with different stakeholders), good oral and written communication skills, and good customer service and interpersonal skills; Exposure to Life Insurance, Pre-need, Mutual Funds or Trust systems and/or operations

  • JSON. XML, SoapUI
  • Docker / Kubernetes
• Knowledge on upcoming technologies
  • Cloud platform (AWS / Azure)
  • Event driven architecture (Kafka)
  • Architectural patterns eg. Light4J, API gateway
