The Role
At Sovos, we're transforming tax and finance compliance from a business burden into a driver of operational confidence. We're building an end-to-end agentic finance platform that combines AI-powered indirect tax compliance with finance process intelligence and automation. Our Sales Engineering team helps the world's largest enterprises understand what that means for them. We're looking for a Solution Consultant to join our Global & US Strategic Accounts presales team, working alongside senior Sales Engineers on complex enterprise deals with Fortune 1000 companies and global accounts.
More specifically, you will:
- Conduct thorough discovery engagements with enterprise prospects to build genuine understanding of their compliance challenges, finance operations, and the business consequences of their current state.
- Lead outcome-driven solution discussions and presentations that connect Sovos's capabilities to specific customer challenges and priorities, incorporating value-focused demonstrations as evidence points where they add clarity.
- Develop business cases and value narratives that connect Sovos's capabilities to quantifiable customer outcomes, applying the financial and operational fluency this requires.
- Engage across multiple stakeholder levels (finance leaders, tax directors, IT) with growing comfort and presence at senior levels as you develop in the role.
- Build fluency in the integrated Sovos platform story and how indirect tax compliance, finance compliance intelligence, and agentic finance automation combine to address enterprise-wide challenges.
- Operate as an active AI practitioner by using AI tools to prepare for and execute customer engagements, and develop the ability to discuss what agentic finance automation means in practical terms for the enterprises you're advising.
- Contribute to the team's shared practice by bringing your observations from the field, participating in deal debriefs, and helping build the collective knowledge of the group.
What You Bring to Sovos
- You have experience in enterprise presales, sales engineering, or a technical customer-facing role — or you've demonstrated the ability to conduct discovery, tailor technical conversations to business stakeholders, and build credibility with enterprise buyers in another context where you understand what good discovery looks like and want to get better at it.
- You bring genuine curiosity about how businesses work, including how enterprises manage compliance risk, run finance operations, and think about the cost of getting either wrong.
- You can engage credibly with finance, tax, and IT stakeholders and tailor your communication to different audiences, with ambition to build confidence engaging with senior executives over time.
- You're oriented toward outcomes rather than outputs and more interested in understanding what success looks like for the customer than in showcasing what the product can do.
- You have active curiosity about AI and agentic systems, you're already using AI tools in how you work and think, and you're interested in what they mean for enterprise finance and compliance.
- Working fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a meaningful differentiator for this role, given the regulatory complexity and growth opportunity across Latin America.
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire.
