Solution Architect 

eGroup is seeking a Solution Architect to join our growing teamThe Solution Architect role is of key strategic importance to eGroup, bridging the gap in presales conversations between ideation and solution development. eGroup Solution Architects are responsible for development of creative and technically sound solutions to client problems. As part of this role, Solution Architects are also responsible for creation of all formal client proposals, including rough orders of magnitude (ROM) and statements of work (SOW). An eGroup Solution Architect must possess deep, practical technical solution knowledge coupled with the ability to engage in meaningful presales discovery conversations to assist in bringing deals to successful closure. 

 

As part of eGroup’s larger Client Experience (CX) team, eGroup Solution Architects are an instrumental component in continued evolution and execution of our CX strategy for both external and internal clients. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities
 
The ideal candidate will have broad technical knowledge of Microsoft cloudDatacenter, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) products and services. They will take a proactive role with new and existing clients, acting as both an individual contributor and thought leader, collaborating with our Account Executives to build a pipeline of opportunities with small-medium enterprise and public sector clients. As part of this process, our Solution Architect team is responsible for identifying and developing the ideal technical solution to meet our clients’ needs and preparing formal, detailed statements of work around the solution. The Solution Architect must also take ownership in working with our Account Executive team to help close these opportunities successfully. 

 

Key duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Designing and positioning services and technology solutions that draw upon the full scope of eGroup Enabling Technologies extended capabilities to address the business and technical needs of prospects and clients. 
  • Leading discovery calls with clients to gather insight for creation of Proposal content, Statements of Work with detailed work scope and deliverables, project costing, and other related activities. 
  • Developing relationships and creatively engaging in differentiated, value-added conversations with strategic prospects that convert to opportunities and profitable wins. 
  • Capitalizing on revenue-generating opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and demonstrating credible expertise in our chosen solution areas. 
  • Creatively differentiating and promoting eGroup Enabling Technologies as the “go-to” provider for our chosen partners in Modern Workplace, Cloud Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.: Microsoft, Nutanix, Cisco, Cohesity and others. 
  • Continuous learning and upskilling to keep up with quickly evolving technologies. 
  • Challenging clients using your skills, insight, and experience to guide clients towards solutions. You must be able to challenge their beliefs with well-researched, tailored insights, bringing in creative and business-savvy solutions that drive sales and maximize outcomes. 
  • Demonstrate technologies (admin and user experiences) within your fields of expertise. 
  • Supporting the sales team by providing technical knowledge and advice during opportunity calls and proactively engaging to provide value. 
  • Working with our Sales Operations team to ensure an effective transition from the sales phase to the delivery phase. 
  • Working with the larger CX team to ensure successful transition of client sales to the delivery phase. 
  • As part of eGroup’s larger CX practice, act as an internal process development and improvement advisor to the company. 
  • Elevating the company’s brand by engaging through social platforms, blog posts, webinar presentations, and newsletter contributions. 
  • This is a hands-on role; you must be able to act under pressure and show wisdom and leadership, often for an audience of top-tier executives. 

 

Required Qualifications
 
A successful Solution Architect candidate must be both a technical expert and an exceptional relationship manager, skilled at resolving complex issues with an eye toward ideal outcomes for both clients and eGroupThe following experience and/or skills are requirements for this role:
 

  • Extensive hands-on architecture/engineering experience and expertise in Microsoft and Datacenter solutions. 
  • Demonstrable prior work experience in consulting/solution architecture development. 
  • Relevant experience in developing scopes of work, presales engineering and client engagement. 
  • Strong writing, presentation, influencing and communications skills with acute attention to detail and excellence. 
  • Willing to work from home and occasionally travel overnight to ensure client success. 
  • Friendly, positive, and engaging attitude. 
  • Rich understanding CX lifecycles and the role exceptional presales solution architecture plays in a CX strategy. 
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure complete client satisfaction. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused, dynamic environment. 

 

Education
 

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Communications with notable experience in a technical capacityor technical degree (Information Technology, Computer Science, etc.) with relevant experience in Solution Architecture. 
  • Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may substitute for a formal degree. 
  • Active Microsoft cloud certifications are a plus for this role. 

 

Experience 

  • 3+ years in a direct client facing, Solution Architect role. 
  • 3+ years of work experience with an IT consulting organization. 
  • 3+ years of experience in developing poignant, accurate, technically sound statements of work. 
  • 3+ years of experience developing and crafting complex technical architecture solutions. 
  • Rich experience with Microsoft Cloud and/or Datacenter solutions. 
  • Demonstrable presales experience with direct responsibility for helping drive successful closure of opportunities. 

 

Working Conditions
 
eGroup is a 100% remote environment:
 

  • Candidates should have access to a productive work environment with the ability to complete work entirely on a computer. 
  • Appropriate hardware will be provided by eGroup. 
  • Access to a strong internet connection is essential. 
  • Video communication is common in this role, so suitable presentation and environment a must. 
  • Minimal travel (less than 10-15%) may occasionally be required for this role.
