I. Purpose
The Solution Architect leads the design and integration of technology solutions for ASHA. Working closely with our Business Analyst team, internal developers, and external system providers, the incumbent shapes high-level system architectures and ensures that our technology components work seamlessly together. This role emphasizes modern integration strategies, including API gateways and composable web architectures, to build flexible, scalable, and secure systems.
II. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee architecture designs that address business requirements and support agile delivery.
- Partner with business owners, business analysts, development teams, and external providers to ensure alignment and smooth integration across all systems.
- Provide direction on technology choices and integration approaches to ensure solutions are scalable and sustainable.
- Create clear architecture diagrams, integration plans, and interface specifications that communicate complex ideas in simple terms.
- Lead spike activities to test design concepts and validate technical feasibility before full-scale implementation.
- Incorporate composable web technologies and cloud-based API solutions into your architectural designs.
- Oversee the integration of diverse systems to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet business needs.
IV. Autonomy & Decision Making
With guidance from the Director of Business Systems Analysis, the incumbent collaborates with internal software developers, external partners, and the CIO to identify key priorities and plan medium- and long-term initiatives for new development and continuous improvement of ASHA’s digital infrastructure. While progress toward critical milestones will be observed by team and organizational leaders, the incumbent uses their own judgment to define and complete daily tasks and coordinate short-term milestones without direct management or oversight.

- 5-10 years experience in solutions architecture and systems integration
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field(s): computer science, software and systems engineering, information technology

- Experience leveraging agile methodologies for effective communication and collaboration on diverse, cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment balancing awareness of long-term strategic goals with careful attention to detail on immediate tasks and priorities
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of business knowledge, identifying critical needs and opportunities for new development and continuous improvement of existing solutions
- Excellent technical documentation skills, enabling translation of business- and user-focused requirements into detailed and clear architectural diagrams and implementation or action plans
- Experience with modern knowledge and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of API gateway technologies (e.g., Apigee or Azure API Management) and their role in streamlining and securing service integration
- Knowledge of composable web architectures (e.g., next.js and headless CMS) and how they support modular, flexible, and rapid application development
- Basic knowledge of database design, data analysis, and modern system integration techniques
