Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect who can work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions across a range of client engagements. The role requires strong expertise in digital technologies, cloud platforms, and enterprise solutions, combined with a proven ability to align business and technology strategies.
The successful candidate will bring excellent consulting, advisory, and architecture skills, helping clients make informed technology decisions and define future-state architectures. Comfortable operating at both strategic and delivery levels, they will develop practical roadmaps and govern solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes and support digital transformation initiatives.
Due to the nature of this role successful candidates will need to undergo security clearance. To be eligible for this role you must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years with no more than 30 consecutive days absence from the UK. Responsibilities
- Lead the design and assurance of business, application, data, and technology architectures aligned to client objectives and strategic outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing architectural guidance and technology leadership across digital transformation programmes.
- Collaborate with clients, partners, and delivery teams to identify opportunities for innovation and evaluate solution options.
- Assess current technology landscapes, identifying risks, opportunities, constraints, and technical debt to develop future-state architectures.
- Define architecture principles, governance processes, standards, and best practices to support successful delivery.
- Create technology roadmaps and migration strategies across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies, cloud services, AI, automation, data platforms, and industry trends.
- Facilitate workshops, architecture reviews, and executive presentations, translating complex technical concepts into business-focused outcomes.
- Support business development, pre-sales activities, bids, and client proposals.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned to business requirements.
- Stay current with technology trends, architecture frameworks, and industry standards to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
About you
- Experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Technical Architect, or Technology Consultant, ideally within a consultancy environment delivering outcomes for a diverse client base.
- Strong experience advising stakeholders on technology strategy, architecture, cloud adoption, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading architecture across user-centred and agile delivery teams.
- Knowledge of Government Digital Service standards, GOV.UK services (Notify, One Login, Pay), and National Cyber Security Centre guidance and security standards.
- Experience designing and governing modern cloud-native, API-led, integration, data, and enterprise architectures across one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.
- Understanding of cloud operating models, platform engineering, DevSecOps, security, observability, resilience, and modern software delivery practices.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, Agile, DevSecOps, and Well-Architected principles.
- Experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Miro.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence senior business and technical stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple client engagements in a fast-paced consultancy environment
