Overview:
A solutions architect creates the overall technical design for a specific solution to a business problem.
Acting as a liaison between the Business Analysis team and the Development teams, the Solution Architect is
expected to work with both sides, defining requirements & scope with the Business Analysis teams,
and defining and documenting technical designs that can be used by the Developers to understand and implement the needed changes.
Responsibilities:
- work with the Business Analysts to define, review, and finalize requirements
- ensure the scope of a solution meets the organization’s requirements
- translate business requirements into technical design specifications
- create Technical Design documents, describing the required changes from technical/implementation perspective
- explain and clarify the required changes to the Developers (both Business and Technical) and ensure proper understanding
- answer inquiries about the scope of change and the technical design, communicating with all project stakeholders including BAs, Developers, End-users, QA, and Management
- comply with organizational and IT standards and governance
- provide recommendations for best technical designs and user experience
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- BSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in software development roles such as programming, analysis, and design
- Knowledge in Relational Database (RDBMS) concepts, design, and related technologies
- Knowledge in Oracle DB, PL/SQL, and APEX
- Knowledge in Pega Platform, Java, or .Net Platform is a plus
- Knowledge in Business Analysis concepts and practices
- Ability to create technical design documents, diagrams, and UX wireframes
- Familiarity with software architecture concepts and best practices
- Familiarity with the concept of Webservices and RESTful services
- Ability to work on multiple projects (changes) at the same time
- Team work, communication skills, and Analytical Skills
