What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or technical consulting, preferably within SaaS or public sector technology
- Deep expertise in cloud architecture, security frameworks, integration design, and compliance requirements specific to government environments
- Proven track record leading technical discovery and architecting solutions that address complex business needs and technical constraints
- Exceptional communication skills, able to translate complex concepts into clear narratives for diverse audiences, including executives and technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure solution viability and customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of government procurement, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards is highly desirable
- Alignment with Granicus’s core values of innovation, integrity, customer success, and inclusivity
Key responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive technical discovery sessions with customers and internal stakeholders to uncover detailed requirements, constraints, and success criteria
- Architect end-to-end solutions that are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with both customer mission and Granicus product capabilities
- Develop detailed architecture documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and technical specifications, ensuring clarity and accuracy for both sales and delivery teams
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to validate solution designs, identify and mitigate technical risks, and ensure smooth handoff to implementation and support
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to sales leadership and customers, influencing deal strategy and technical positioning
- Mentor junior architects and presales engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team
- Contribute to internal enablement, including development of best practices, playbooks, and training materials
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and public sector challenges to continuously enhance architectural approaches and thought leadership
How success is measured:
- Delivery of high-quality, scalable, and compliant architectures that meet customer needs with minimal rework or escalation
- Consistently positive feedback from customers, sales partners, and cross-functional teams regarding technical expertise, collaboration, and responsiveness
- Production of reusable architecture assets and frameworks that improve team efficiency and solution consistency
- Effective identification and management of technical risks that could impact deal success or solution delivery
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, knowledge sharing, and contributing to the evolution of architectural practice within Granicus
