We are hiring a hands-on Solutions Architect to design, build, and
operate complex, regulated, global solutions across payroll, tax, and
immigration domains. This role is technical-first: you will own the end-to-end
architecture for a product or suite of products and contribute directly to
implementation (spikes, reference services, critical-path features), while
partnering with a global, cross-functional team to drive delivery, deployments,
and production support across time zones. You will also lead the adoption of
AI-powered development practices—including spec-driven development and agentic
coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)—and design AI-enabled solutions using
Azure OpenAI APIs and intelligent agents to automate business process flows.
· Architecture + Build: Produce architecture designs and implement key components (reference
implementations, platform libraries, integration adapters, critical workflows).
· Distributed Systems: Design and build event-driven services (messaging, async workflows,
idempotency, retries, backpressure, eventual consistency), including
well-defined event contracts and versioning strategies.
· Azure Solution Design: Build using Azure PaaS services and patterns (identity, networking,
storage, messaging, API management, monitoring), with practical tradeoffs
across cost, scalability, resilience, and latency. Design and integrate AI
capabilities using Azure OpenAI APIs (GPT, embeddings, assistants) to enable
intelligent features and agent-driven automation within business process flows.
· Front-End Architecture: Architect and ship large Next.js/React applications (routing,
state strategy, data-fetching patterns, performance, accessibility,
modularization, micro-frontend considerations where relevant).
· Integration Architecture: Define secure integration patterns (REST and event-based), build
connectors/adapters, and establish operational runbooks for partner/client
integrations.
· Security by Design: Implement secure SDLC practices—threat modeling, secrets management,
encryption, least-privilege access, audit logging, and secure defaults aligned
to regulated environments.
· Authentication &
Authorization: Implement end-to-end authn/authz
using OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, and token-based access. Design RBAC/ABAC/ReBAC,
tenant-aware authorization, API scopes/claims, and service-to-service identity
(e.g., managed identities).
· Operational Readiness: Own observability and reliability patterns (structured logging,
metrics, tracing, SLOs, alerting, incident response) and participate in
troubleshooting production issues.
· Documentation that Ships: Create actionable architecture artifacts (ADRs, sequence diagrams,
domain flows, deployment diagrams, runbooks) that teams can execute against.
· AI Agent Design;
Process Automation: Design, build, and deploy AI agents that automate business
process flows—using Azure OpenAI APIs, function calling, orchestration
frameworks, and RAG pipelines—with appropriate guardrails, evaluation, and
human-in-the-loop controls for regulated environments.
· Technical Leadership: Drive peer architecture/code reviews, coach engineers, and raise
engineering standards across onshore/offshore teams. Lead and mentor teams in
agentic development practices—spec-driven workflows, AI-assisted coding (Claude
Code, Codex), and automated test/review generation—to accelerate delivery
velocity while maintaining quality and governance.
· Event-based systems (pub/sub, workflow orchestration, event sourcing where appropriate)
· Distributed systems (partitioning, resiliency, failure-mode design, consistency tradeoffs)
· Domain-driven integration approaches (bounded contexts, contracts,
anti-corruption layers)
· Agentic AI patterns including plan/execute/verify loops, tool/function calling, RAG,
verifier/critic steps, guardrails, evaluation, and agent
observability/auditability. Experience applying these patterns to automate business process flows
using Azure OpenAI APIs and orchestration frameworks.
· Experience working in environments using AI for development, build,
and operations (coding assistants such as Claude Code and Codex, automated
PR reviews, test generation, incident support).
· Comfortable using a spec-driven AI development workflow: translating
requirements into structured specs, acceptance criteria, diagrams, and prompts
that accelerate delivery while maintaining governance. Ability to lead teams in
adopting agentic development practices—spec-driven development, AI-assisted
coding, and agent-based automation—as standard ways of working.
· 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in
architecture/solution design (or equivalent scope).
· Proven experience designing and operating solutions in a regulated
global environment (privacy, auditability, security controls, cross-border
considerations).
· Strong Azure experience designing and building cloud-native
solutions using Microsoft PaaS and frameworks, including Azure OpenAI APIs for
AI-enabled features and agent-based automation.
· Strong experience architecting Next.js and/or React applications
at scale.
· Demonstrated experience with event-driven and distributed system design and production operations.
· Hands-on experience
with agentic development tools and practices (e.g., Claude Code, Codex,
spec-driven development) and a track record of leading engineering teams in
AI-assisted delivery workflows.
· Strong communication skills: can explain tradeoffs clearly to technical
and non-technical stakeholders.
· Experience with enterprise integrations (HRIS, payroll providers,
finance systems) and/or iPaaS patterns.
· Strong testing and automation mindset (TDD/BDD, CI/CD quality gates).
· Experience with data modeling, SQL, and reporting/analytics.
· Microsoft certifications (Azure Solutions Architect or similar) a plus.
· Experience designing AI
agents to automate business process flows (e.g., using Azure OpenAI Assistants
API, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar orchestration frameworks).
