The Lubricant Supply Chain (LSC) organization is a critical part of the broader Lubricants business, and critical to winning in the marketplace.
In this role, you will support Lubricants Americas in delivering its growth ambitions. Lubricants Americas falls under the Shell Global Lubricants umbrella -- A business advancing towards an accelerated growth commitment by 2025 with a 10% CAGR.
As part of the Lubricants Americas Supply Chain Optimization and Projects organization, this team will drive world class Sales and Operations Planning for North and South America lubricant supply chain network across multiple sales channels (B2B, B2C, Indirect, Retail, GKAs, etc.). The broad product portfolio includes fast-moving consumer goods, products exclusively developed for key customers, and specialty products with niche applications.
What’s the role
As a Supply Chain Solution Architect for Materials and Portfolio, you play a critical role in ensuring the process core remains stable and efficient. You will have deep design and technical knowledge of current processes and tools, holds accountability for process and tool reliability, supports system-related implementation of major projects, and builds competency within the wider Lubricants America organization. This will have to be done while ensuring Lubricants drives towards best in class. You’ll thrive on working closely with global excellence teams on road map development while at the same time delivering on the ground solutions to meet evolving customer and business needs.
More specifically, your role will include:
- Collaborate with global solution architect community, lead super users, end users to embed and strengthen the understanding and execution of system process activities on the ground and strengthen the regional support model.
- Subject matter expert of various end-to-end supply chain processes and tools including material management (preferred), product lifecycle management (preferred), base oil management (preferred), logistics, and plant set-up efforts.
- Help the business deliver Change Request and IT change with value and timeliness in mind.
- Collaborate with regional counterparts and global excellence teams to remain connected to changes to tools and processes.
- Help drive process changes led by business strategy and business processes.

What we need from you
Both roles require expertise in the design, documentation and deployment of process along with continuous improvement mindset. You will be expected to understand functional process deeply but also how they integrate end to end successfully and efficiently. You would also be expected to assume responsibility across & outside the lubricants process area when it comes to end-to-end scenarios to ensure integration across all processes for critical business activities.
When it comes to implementation, it’s your excellent people skills that will make the difference. You will inspire people to make changes that will have a direct impact on our commercial success. Furthermore, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 2+ years relevant experience in SAP or other supply chain systems is required
- Prior expertise in planning tool(s) such as Kinaxis, O9, Blue Yonder, O8, SAP, Oracle is required.
- Deep expertise in SAP supply chain modules and interaction with relevant bolt-on’s is required
- Expert Level Knowledge of various end-to-end supply chain processes and tools such as material management, PLM, logistics, and plant set-up, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build a shared vision and influence other people at all levels within the organization
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to identify and respond quickly to changing priorities and multi-task
- Expertise in the design, documentation and deployment of process along with continuous improvement mindset.
- Operational experience in the Lubricants business is preferred (e.g., LOBP, supply or demand Planning, PLM)
- Expert Level Knowledge of demand and supply planning would be valuable to the position.
- Capacity to understand functional process deeply but also how they integrate end to end successfully and efficiently.
- Assume responsibility across & outside the LSC process area when it comes to end-to-end scenarios to ensure integration across all processes for critical business activities.
- When it comes to implementation, it’s your excellent people skills that will make the difference. You will inspire people to make changes that will have a direct impact on our commercial success.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, ability to build a shared vision and an ability to influence other people at all levels within the organization.

- Willingness to work during US hours (Houston). The role will be based out of India to support the LSC network in the United States. Shift allowance (as per India country norms i.e. IRN 475/ per day (shift)) will be provided for the off-shift requirement in addition to the regular salary.
