Description
As a Solution Architect and a core member of the world-wide Customer Engineering & Technical Support Organisation (which is tasked with customer delivery (including triage and support of customer cases)), you will play a key role in designing, automating, and optimizing customer deployments of the DTEX platform. You’ll work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to architect scalable, secure, and repeatable infrastructure solutions using Ansible, Terraform, and other relevant modern technology practices. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with strong customer-facing skills—you’ll serve as both an engineer and a trusted advisor, helping clients accelerate their security and automation strategies.
Active Australia Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Security Clearance in good standing required.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
- Architect and Deploy Solutions: Design, build, and maintain automated infrastructure deployments for DTEX platforms using Terraform and Ansible.
- Customer Engagement: Work directly with enterprise customers to understand requirements, define architecture, and implement secure and scalable solutions.
- Automation & Integration: Develop reusable playbooks, modules, and templates to standardize and streamline DTEX deployments across multiple environments (on-prem, hybrid, and cloud).
- Use a systematic approach to proficiently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues requiring an understanding of RHEL/CentOS and the components of the DTEX “big data analytics” system. Including ElasticSearch.
- Conduct basic training of the DTEX Kibana-based UI, including end user & admin features as appropriate to customers.
- Documentation & Enablement: Produce high-quality architectural diagrams, deployment guides, and runbooks to support internal teams and customer success.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Depth of experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Engineer in enterprise or SaaS environments.
- Strong Linux knowledge including server admin experience, including large clustered, enterprise software deployment, configuration and maintenance.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform (multi-cloud) and Ansible for configuration management and orchestration.
- Hands on experience with large distributed clustered systems from deployment, maintenance, scaling and troubleshooting perspectives.
- Understanding and experience with database such as ElasticSearch or PostreSQL.
- Experience with basic bash and / or python scripting.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, (or Google Cloud Platform.)
- Understanding of networking administration on Linux and Windows.
- Understanding of inter-application communication with a particular focus on troubleshooting.
- Strong, clear, and organized communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong self-starting individual contributor.
- Strong member in world-wide and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple customers or projects.
- Customer acumen to champion the customer problem until resolution.
- Desire to learn new skills/technologies and remain up-to-date with latest trends.
- Passion for solving technical problems.
- Experience working in start-up or fast-paced emerging environments and worldwide teams (would be beneficial but not a must)
Not Required, but desirable skills:
- Deep understanding of any of RHEL/CentOS, Apache, Elasticsearch, Kibana, complex distributed computing, data flow statistics, system monitoring
- Proficient in at least one programming and scripting language
- Strong Proficiency in Ansible and Terraform
- Experience contributing to documentation
- Experience working in different server environments, e.g. virtual machines, AWS environments, physical servers
- Knowledge of Insider Threat, UEBA space – a bonus
- Knowledge of information retrieval and/or analytics domain – a bonus
- BS / MS Computer Science or related engineering discipline – a bonus
