Our client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in the healthcare sector to join their team on a 12-month contract.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and governing end-to-end technology solutions across both infrastructure and application domains. This role requires someone who understands the complexities of healthcare environments, including interoperability, security, compliance, and the delivery of highly available enterprise systems.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design end-to-end enterprise solution architectures that align with business and technical requirements.
  • Develop architecture solutions spanning infrastructure, networking, cloud, applications, middleware, and security.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, developers, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure architectural designs comply with enterprise standards, governance, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, from design through implementation.
  • Review existing environments and recommend modernization, optimization, and cloud adoption strategies.
  • Support application integration initiatives and ensure seamless interoperability between healthcare systems.
  • Produce architecture documentation, solution designs, technical roadmaps, and governance artefacts.
  • Participate in architecture review boards and provide guidance on technology selection and best practices.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.


Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of IT experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect role.
  • Demonstrated experience within the healthcare or health sector is essential.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure including:
    • Servers
    • Storage
    • Virtualisation
    • Networking
    • Identity & Access Management
    • Cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture including:
    • Application integration
    • APIs
    • Middleware
    • Enterprise applications
    • Microservices
  • Experience designing hybrid and cloud-based architectures.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • TOGAF certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM) is advantageous.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, and container platforms is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and enterprise architecture governance.
