About this opportunity:
Join our dynamic team at Ericsson as a Solution Architect. In this pivotal role of Design IMS solutions that scale, interoperate, and perform. You will turn customer needs into robust architectures, lead end-to-end design across multi-vendor environments, and guide delivery teams from blueprint to acceptance. The goal is simple, resilient IMS, ready for VoLTE, VoWiFi, and cloud-native evolution.
What you will do:
• Own the IMS solution architecture, align HLD and LLD with customer requirements, standards, and Ericsson best practices.• Define reference architectures for CSCF, SBC, TAS, DNS/ENUM, and related domains, including integration with EPC/5GC.• Lead discovery and translate business and technical needs into clear design decisions, risks, and trade-offs.• Produce and review design deliverables, HLD/LLD, capacity and scaling models, security controls, data flows, and call flows.• Set integration strategy and guardrails, support MOP definition for live activities, and ensure design compliance during rollout.• Define test strategies for SIT, IOT, and UAT, align acceptance criteria with KPIs and SLAs, and sign off on readiness.• Guide troubleshooting on complex issues, drive root cause analysis, and steer corrective actions with L2/L3 teams.• Optimize architecture for performance, resilience, and cost. Lead parameter tuning guidance and capacity planning.• Shape the cloud journey with NFV and cloud-native patterns on Kubernetes, and promote automation across on-prem and hybrid clouds.• Partner across domains, Cloud, PACO, Transport, Security, and customer stakeholders. Run technical workshops and design reviews.• Maintain architecture standards, reusable patterns, and knowledge assets for repeatable delivery.
The skills you bring:
• Deep understanding of IMS architecture and 3GPP standards, with practical design authority in multi-vendor environments.• Strong grasp of SIP, SDP, DIAMETER, and call flows for VoLTE and VoWiFi, with interworking to EPC/5GC.• Hands-on credibility with IMS nodes, CSCF, TAS, SBC, DNS/ENUM, plus policy and charging touchpoints.• Proficiency in Linux fundamentals, networking, routing, DNS, TLS, and security principles for IMS.• Experience defining test strategies and acceptance for carrier-grade services and KPIs.• Comfort with logs and traces, and tools like Wireshark, to validate design and isolate defects.• Cloud and virtualization know-how, NFV, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and exposure to cloud-native IMS.• Scripting for automation advantage, Python or Shell, to support design validation and tooling.• Clear communicator who can lead technical discussions, simplify complexity, and influence decisions.
The skills you bring:
• BE/B.Tech/MCA or equivalent.• 9 to 15 years in telecom core or IMS, with at least 5+ years in solution or architecture roles.• Proven track record delivering IMS, VoLTE or VoWiFi, from design to acceptance in live networks.• Certifications are a plus, IMS or VoLTE, Linux, cloud, Kubernetes, OpenStack.
Skills Required
- BE, B.Tech, MCA, or equivalent degree
- 9 to 15 years of experience in telecom core or IMS
- At least 5 years of experience in solution or architecture roles
- Proven delivery of IMS, VoLTE, or VoWiFi from design through acceptance in live networks
- Deep understanding of IMS architecture and 3GPP standards
- Experience with SIP, SDP, DIAMETER, VoLTE, VoWiFi, EPC, and 5GC interworking
- Experience with IMS nodes including CSCF, TAS, SBC, and DNS/ENUM
- Knowledge of Linux, networking, routing, DNS, TLS, and IMS security principles
- Experience defining test strategies and acceptance criteria for carrier-grade services
- Experience with logs, traces, and Wireshark
- Cloud, virtualization, NFV, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD knowledge
- Python or Shell scripting experience
- IMS or VoLTE, Linux, cloud, Kubernetes, or OpenStack certifications
