Key Responsibilities
- Perform hand soldering and desoldering of electronic components, including through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) parts
- Assemble circuit boards, wiring, and electronic assemblies according to schematics and work instructions
- Inspect solder joints to ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., IPC standards)
- Troubleshoot and repair defective electronic assemblies
- Use tools such as soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and microscopes
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions
- Document work performed, including repairs and modifications
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve production issues
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- Proven experience in soldering electronic components
- Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610) is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of electronic components and circuits
- Good eyesight (corrected vision acceptable)
- IPC certification (e.g., IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610)
- Experience with surface-mount technology (SMT)
- Prior experience in manufacturing or electronics repair
- Manufacturing or lab setting
- May require sitting for long periods and performing repetitive tasks
- Use of magnification tools and fine hand movements
- Exposure to solder fumes (proper ventilation provided)
