Software Requirements:
The Software Tester will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of our software applications through rigorous testing and automation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in automation testing, particularly with Selenium, alongside strong proficiency in Node.js and related technologies.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium to ensure software quality.
- Collaborate with software developers and product managers to understand requirements and translate them into test cases.
- Identify, record, and track bugs and issues through their lifecycle.
- Perform performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring of applications.
- Maintain and enhance existing test frameworks and tools.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for testing and development.
- Ensure adherence to coding, security, unit testing, and documentation standards.
- Actively engage in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Skills:
- Programming Languages: Proficient in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Testing Tools: Strong expertise in Selenium for automation testing.
- APIs: Experience in developing scalable and highly available RESTful APIs and practical knowledge of GraphQL.
- CI/CD: Well-versed in CI/CD principles, with experience troubleshooting issues in a distributed services ecosystem.
- Containerization: Understanding of containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
- API Gateway: Experience with API gateway integrations (e.g., 3Scale).
- Authentication: Knowledge of Single-Sign-On and token-based authentication methods (REST, JWT, oAuth).
- Task/Message Queues: Expert knowledge of task/message queues including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Pushpin, and Kafka.
Experience:
- 4 to 7 years of coding experience in Node.js, JavaScript, and databases.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in TypeScript.
- Proven hands-on experience in performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring.
- Previous experience in banking, financial, and fintech sectors in an enterprise environment preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Review system requirements and design test plans based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Conduct exploratory testing and provide feedback on user experience and design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Generate test reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree or Postgraduate in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in software testing or automation tools are a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence multiple teams on technical considerations.
- Self-motivated, capable of driving projects independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present ideas effectively to senior and executive management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly to meet deadlines.
