About the role

We have a position open for SW Test Engineer based in our Tech Centre in Shanghai. The role involves providing Test support for Mobile Apps based on WeChat Miniprogram, automated voice control testing and MyDyson Cloud integration. Come and join Dyson as we embark on our new journey into the world of Connectivity which will support products such as the Connected Wet & Dry Robots and Cordless Vacuums, Pure Cool Link and other connected products

Key Responsibilities:

• Help to define the test planning and strategy fit for the scope and required schedule of the project.

• Aggressively identifies and drive test automation across the validation cycles.

• Work with SW Engineers to develop test cases to validate the functional features and UI/UX requirements by validating navigation flows, inputs, App responsiveness, speed, stability and error handling.

• Conducts root cause analysis of error incidents

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Zephyr and Minium, and integrate automated test into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality

• Maintain a high standard of bug reporting and comprehensive documentation for issue reproduction and future references

• Able to maintain good collaboration and clear communication with developers and UI/UX designers, and provide clear feedback on flaws and required improvements

• Provide technical support for identification and troubleshooting of issues found in our connected devices and the connected eco-system in China

• Be able to work and coordinates with stakeholder under requirement changes

Technical Key Competencies

• Experienced and has a strong passion in test engineering

• Experience in Mobile Application Testing Automation, including UI, Functional/Non-functional, Regression tests, hardware device compatibility tests, Performance tests, Security interoperability testing, Usability testing, language localization tests, Automated tests.

• Should have experience in testing WeChat Miniprogram apps

• Strong experience in CI Automation tools commonly used in the industry

• Must have experience with debugging tools, performance tools related to mobile and cloud services

• Hands-on skills in system level issue debug including log/trace collection, analysis and work-around solution proposal

• Good Knowledge in development skills such as Python, Bash, Shell, database or equivalent and use of test script tool such as Minium, Appium and etc.

• General knowledge in Cloud infrastructure & Platform such as AWS

• General understanding of agile development and test-driven development

• Familiar with communication protocols such as MQTT

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, EE, or a related field.
