We have a great opportunity for a remote Quality Test Engineer to join the IT ERP Modernization team, within the Ferguson IT organization. This position will involve testing of small to medium size software enhancements. The ideal candidate will have experience with testing application software, have the technical ability to validate data updates to the database, along with strong interpersonal skills to connect with both technical and non-technical associates.
This role is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software applications through meticulous testing and collaboration with multi-functional teams.

You will play a meaningful role in identifying bugs, usability issues, and other potential problems before our products are deployed to customers.

Review Requirements, User Stories and Tech Design to expertly provide estimates, and prepare/execute test cases to identify high risk areas specific to a project.

Defines, creates, and manipulates test data.

Logs defects and collaborate with development team in bugs fixing and build plans.

Complete tests based on test plans to ensure software meets end-user requirements.

Work as part of an Agile development team embracing the Agile Scrum process.

Apply various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLC.

Contribute towards Test Automation Strategy by identifying critical / regression test cases to be automated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Related or Business related field is typically required to perform at expectation.

Software Testing or Software Support can be substituted for education.

Minimum of 3-5 years software testing experience, preferred.

Strong knowledge of SDLC, various testing concepts (e.g. functional, usability, performance) and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.

Basic understanding of SQL.

Hands on experience of Automation preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences in written and non-written formats.

Proactive communicator who gains consensus and brings up issues as appropriate to keep projects on schedule.

Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, attention to detail.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
