Software Test Engineer III - Robotics

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and follow up development activities to ensure that the engineering outputs meet the quality, reliability, performance, and cost expectations of the customer, for the following systems:
  • On Board Vehicle robotics and technology system testing
  • Embedded Software Testing and reporting
  • Electrical Components Integration testing and evaluation
  • Configure communication devices for connectivity testing

General Activities:

  • Engineering leadership of test and evaluation projects
  • Develop relationships within HYG and suppliers to support HYG robotic testing objectives
  • Develop and execute test plans for complete robotic vehicle, system, software and  components
  • Support development testing to ensure design robustness to requirements.
  • Analyze data and communicate test results both verbally and through written reports
  • The Successful Test Engineer III  Will Meet the Following Minimum Qualifications:
  • Take initiative within HYG and externally with suppliers to drive for project results
  • Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Quality: Follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design and documentation.
  • Decision Making: Exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product.
  • Systematic Problem solving:  Demonstrate ability to apply basic principles and methods to resolve product issues.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Function well in a team environment by working well with other employees and other departments. 
  • Ability to mentor and lead entry level engineers
  • Occasional travel may be required (less than 10% total time)

Education/ Experience

  • Formal education with a minimum BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • With four years of relevant engineering work experience

Skills

  • Experience with robotic sensors and SLAM applications
  • knowledge/skill in Electrical circuits
  • knowledge/skill in controls theory

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education with focus on Control Systems
  • Knowledge of CAN bus systems (SAE J1939 or CAN Open)
  • Experience working in an agile c development environment
  • Experience with a scripting computer language for test automation
  • Experience with embedded system development
