This role sits within Hospital Patient Monitoring (HPM), which provides advanced monitoring solutions for acute care settings. From bedside and transport monitors to centralized systems, HPM helps clinicians identify at-risk patients and intervene quickly. The position is based in Bangalore, a key hub supporting innovation and collaboration across Philips.
In this role, you will Design & Develop, platform components and applications for Hospital Patient Monitoring business category.
Your role:
Participating in the development of application software
Analyzing and understanding the Software/Functional Requirements Specification
Owning the detailed design of the system.
Comfortable in design, implementation, testing, and documentation
Ensure quality by writing developer level tests (unit, component, etc.)
Debugging defects
Performing unit testing of the code.
Contributing to Features/User stories for modules/SDS /Test strategy
Working with team for the quality and timely deliveries.
Creating products according to the specifications and software development process
Creating engineering documentations to comply with product development policies, practices and procedures
Participates in peer reviews for project artifacts and ensure the quality of deliverables
Supporting project estimation, planning and risk management activities
Keeping abreast of technical developments in own field through study, technical contacts and propagate it
You're the right fit if:
- 5 - 8 years of experience with good Knowledge of C++ and Python programming languages
- 3+ years of systems-level or embedded software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Rust (ownership, lifetimes, concurrency, memory safety).
- Experience developing high-performance embedded or real-time applications.
- Experience designing modular, reusable software components.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Pytest and Pytest-BDD.
- Working knowledge of GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Good knowledge of serial communication and communication protocols (e.g. RS232, RS422, USB, SPI etc.)
- Basic knowledge of HW (e.g. microcontroller, A/D converter, i/o controls)
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
