What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll join a diverse team of talented engineers contributing to the production and success of a sophisticated, AI-powered solution at the forefront of the fight against financial crime.
- You’ll be a prime advocate of our customer’s success by participating in deep investigations of some of the most complex performance and functional issues they may face.
- You’ll be a member of our Engineering Team working directly with our Level 3 support engineers to learn about our most complex technical issues. This will give you a unique opportunity to become an expert over time across our entire technical base for this product.
- You’ll be passionate about our customer’s ability to use our software to solve their financial crime challenges.
Key tasks:
- You will be mentored by a senior Staff Engineer so that you can gain a deep understanding of our software across all microservices. Eventually, this will enable to you to become our first port of call in Level 3 support.
- You will be able to fix issues in our system as they arise based on priority and impact by work alongside multiple teams, collaborating with other engineers, product managers, architects, project managers, support staff, UX and QA specialists.
- You will assist our internal teams as well as our customers as you will have a uniquely broad knowledge of our software.
The successful candidate should have these skills:
We recognise that demonstrable skills in all these technologies aren’t easy to find and you may not meet 100% of the job description. Don’t let that stop you from applying! We can work in partnership to identify your strengths and provide you with the training, mentoring and coaching necessary to fill any gaps.
- Experience with some of our core technologies: Node.js, React, Elasticsearch, Kafka, MongoDB, Redis. You’ll be proficient in at least one programming language and be accustomed to evaluating new technologies.
- Experience building and maintaining production software. It’s great if you’ve worked with large scale data processing systems and complex JavaScript or Python codebases.
- Strengths in developing high quality software, finding and fixing bugs, debugging issues and liaising with other internal team members.
- Strong communication skills. You’ll be able to explain complex concepts, write clear and concise code reviews or technical aids, work on pull requests and documentation, and in some cases, you will work directly with customers on deep support issues.
- Must be able to work remotely, or hybrid from our Cheltenham office.
