The Software Support Engineer III is a highly organized, highly technical role whose key focus is to efficiently support, maintain and improve NCR Atleos mission to drive platforms and ATM availability.
The position is responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of software applications and systems. This role involves monitoring system performance, pulling and analyzing logs, and isolating issues to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The candidate will be a subject matter expert in working closely with development and operations teams to troubleshoot problems, optimize system functionality, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Pulling logs: Collect and analyze system logs to track application behavior and system events.
- Analyzing data: Use analytical skills to interpret log data, identify patterns, and diagnose issues.
- Problem isolation: Determine the root cause of issues and isolate them from the broader system to prevent widespread impact.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to communicate findings and implement solutions.
- Continuous learning: Stay updated with the latest industry practices in log analysis and problem-solving techniques.
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of tools like Power BI, Beyond Compare, and Microsoft Excel is essential for organizing, analyzing, and creating clear and insightful data.
- High proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience working with Jira, ServiceNow, and/or other applications that manages projects, general work request, and incidents.
- Experience with databases, writing SQL queries and using stored procedures.
- Experience with various Windows OS; 7, 10, & 11
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. multi-task, time management and organizational skills
- Team player and acts both as a player and mentor
Preferred Qualifications
- IT related college degree, training, or certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Level 2 – 3 technical support, engineering, or analytical roles.
- Proficiency in cleaning and preparing data for analysis to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Ability to identify patterns, trends, and insights from data to solve complex problems.
- Evaluating data critically to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Ability to write complex technical documentation in standalone (Word/PDF) and digital format for internal department use as well as organizational notifications.
- Experience leading small teams of Engineers and Analysts.
- Understanding and experience in using a Software Development Life Cycle process.
- Waterfall and/or Agile are two such methods.
