Description
The Software Support Engineer III is curious, creative and passionate about finding technical solutions, problem solving and helping customers in need. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Developer with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, who deep dives into complex technical issues to figure out what's going on, whether through testing, reverse engineering or debugging. The candidate creates solutions to JavaScript / PHP code, SQL stored procedures, data changes, or whatever is needed to solve the problem. The candidate is also responsible for providing thorough analysis and feedback to colleagues, stakeholders and customers and deliver a high level of customer service and follow up. As the Subject Matter Expert, the candidate stays abreast of industry direction with respect to automation and ensure the organization's platform and strategy takes advantage of the best and most appropriate technology and processes.
Responsibilities
- Fix database issues and coding bugs to help enhance the system.
- Plan, Automate, Deploy, and troubleshoot Infrastructure.
- Designs and develops creative solutions to JavaScript / PHP code, SQL stored procedures, and data changes.
- Provide technical assistance and support to customers if issues are encountered.
- Provide status updates to clients on a regular basis.
- Update all appropriate departments to facilitate a successful resolution to any client issue.
- Build and test the solution, deploy it to the clients environments, and validate the resolution.
- Database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validate stored procedures, jobs, triggers and replication.
- Maintain/Monitor/Improve Database Indexes, and Application Queries and Data Modeling.
- Work with multiple teams including Development to understand Unit test coverage, DevOps to understand the Continuous Integration process and Customer Support to understand issues customers see.
- Take ownership of sensitive and/or highly critical issues that need expedited resolution.
- Challenge the status-quo, holds other accountable and use data to drive a positive change.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of full stack development experience with JavaScript, PHP and related technologies
- Experience with databases at the administration and SQL level
- Experience interpreting product architecture and system design
- Experience coding with automation framework, tools and services
- Experience in database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procedures, jobs, triggers and replication
