We are looking for an experienced and innovative Installed Base / CMDB Architect to lead the architecture and design of a cutting-edge Configuration Management Database (CMDB) built on elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash) infrastructure within Microsoft Azure Cloud. You will be responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of the CMDB platform, ensuring it aligns with our enterprise needs, supports complex integrations, and serves a user base of 5000+ users. This role requires deep expertise in Azure cloud architecture, elastic stack technologies, and experience with large-scale infrastructure design.
CMDB Architect
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative architect to lead the architecture and design of our advanced data platform built on the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash) and hosted within Microsoft Azure. This platform will leverage various Azure services, including Azure Functions, API Management, Azure SQL Database, Event Hubs, to support a scalable and secure infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring our data platform meets enterprise needs, supports complex integrations, and efficiently serves over 100,000 agents uploading data across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and Design CMDB Platform:
- Lead the architectural design of a scalable, high-performance CMDB platform utilizing the Elastic Stack, ensuring it meets high availability requirements.
- Integration with Azure Native Services:
- Implement Azure services such as Azure Functions, API Management, SQL Database, and Key Vault to facilitate seamless integration between the CMDB and related systems.
- Change Management Support:
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure the CMDB integrates effectively with our custom Change Management System built on C# and Azure technologies.
- User Management and Security:
- Design a secure solution to manage access control and permissions for 5,000+ users, adhering to best practices in identity and access management.
- Performance Optimization:
- Continuously monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring quick data retrieval and robust system stability.
- Log Management and Monitoring:
- Establish efficient log management and monitoring solutions using Logstash and Kibana, providing real-time insights into system health.
- Data Security and Compliance:
- Ensure all components meet security standards and comply with regulations (GDPR, SOC2), incorporating encryption, access control measures, and auditing mechanisms.
- Security Design Considerations:
- Advocate for high standards in product quality and security compliance throughout the development lifecycle. Design security features such as data encryption in transit and at rest, secure API access, and user authentication/authorization mechanisms.
- Implement security best practices in the architecture to safeguard sensitive data and protect against potential threats.
- Disaster Recovery Planning:
- Design and implement disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity.
- Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work with development, DevOps, and IT operations teams for seamless integration and improvement. Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in architecture, with a minimum of 2 years in Elastic Stack technologies (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Expert knowledge of Azure Cloud services, including Azure Functions, API Management, and SQL Database.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing architectures for large-scale infrastructures.
- Familiarity with API design, microservices, and integration strategies.
- Strong understanding of C# and Azure DevOps for custom solution development.
- Knowledge of security best practices, networking concepts, and compliance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
- Experience in high-concurrency environments with large datasets.
- Previous work with complex integrations and performance tuning in cloud environments.
