We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Security Engineer to join our expanding teamUnder the direction of the Manager of Software Security, this individual is a vital member of our Information Security team that will provide expertise in secure coding practices and the security of our applications. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a vary talented group of Software Engineers to mature security practices that maintain the trust placed in Aya and align with our business objectives.  This position is an individual contributor role with responsibilities for software security across the organization.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain relationships with software engineers, scrum masters, architects, and other security teams to incorporate security principles into software design and deployments 
  • Oversee Software Security practices and countermeasures across software components and applications (both internally and externally facing) 
  • Provide input to strengthening secure code practices 
  • Ensuring software findings in your area of responsibility are properly and adequately addressed 
  • Stay up to date on emerging threats that affect the security of Aya’s software and applications 
  • Assist with training of Security Champions, when required 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, and/or equivalent experience 
  • 7+ years’ experience in software, product, or application security 
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages, such C#, PHP, Python, and Java  
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies 
  • Understanding and experience with OWASP Top 10 Risks, software security maturity models (such as SAMM or BSIMM), and secure software development lifecycle (SLDC) processes/techniques 
  • Experience performing software threat modeling, such as STRIDE  
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision 
  • Strong tendency to action 
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset

Compensation: Aya reasonably anticipates the pay scale for this position to be an annual salary of $150,000 to $190,000. 

The pay scale for this position may vary if applicant possesses experience outside of what Aya reasonably anticipates for this position. Bonuses are subject to the role and your manager’s discretion.
