We are offering a Software R&D Manager (m/f/d) to form and lead a software R&D team at our Agilent site in Waldbronn, Germany (close to Karlsruhe). An exciting opportunity to create the next generation of technology for our automated electrophoresis software products. Our aim is to investigate, identify and develop new products, processes and technology that will enable a smoother laboratory workflow for our customers to gain trusted answers and insights efficiently.
To succeed in this role, you will apply leadership skills to encourage a team culture to drive innovation. You will be responsible to strategically lead projects and drive the coordination to determine and develop new solutions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage a team in a collaborative and interdisciplinary work environment.
- Lead a sophisticated Software development process from start to finish.
- Take an independent, positive and proactive approach to problem solving within a team.

Qualifications
- A university degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent
- Multiple years of proven experience in leading/handling the execution of software projects and tactics. Meeting project timelines and product quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across multiple sites and functions to coordinate projects
- Self-organized and independent work style
- Positive approach paired with a can-do mentality
- Strong curiosity to understand and meet customer needs and expectations
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in life science markets and their specific regulatory requirements (e.g. GxP, 21 CFR Part 11)
- Background in scientific/analytical laboratory applications
- Experience in agile software development with ability to facilitate the agile approach (Scrum)
- Expertise in web development technologies (Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, …)
- Experience in Microsoft Technologies (.Net framework, C#, etc.)
- Knowledge of Object-oriented programming methodologies, message-oriented middleware, service-oriented architecture
