Software Quality Engineer, Senior

In this role, as a Senor QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of    software through rigorous testing. They design and execute test plans, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues. QA Engineers work to maintain software performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. They also create automated tests to streamline the testing process. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential in this role. 

What you’ll do & how you’ll make your mark 

• Responsible for creating the appropriate test data and set up the correct test conditions to execute test cases. 

• Responsible for creating test plans, executing test cases, recording results, identifying system or application problems and writing clear, descriptive and valid test reports. 

• Responsible for enhancing and maintaining automated test suites. 

• Must be able to communicate clearly, interact with developers and business analysts to track and resolve defects. 
   

Who you are & what you’ll need to succeed 

• You want to work as part of a cross-functional team and help to ensure solid quality and testing practices are in place end to end. 

• You are driven to ensure that your team are delivering only the highest quality software to your customers and internal partners. 

• You are able to write automated test suites in PHP or Java that will pass code review from a developer. 

• You have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle. 

• You have a solid understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle. 

• You have the ability to thoroughly analyse and understand requirements. 

• You have the ability to create test data and execute test cases that exercise features in ways their developers probably never thought of. 

• You can triage, identify and track defects through to resolution. 

• You have solid SQL skills to validate functionality and diagnose issues. 

• You have API testing experience using Postman or similar as well as automated tests. 

• You have solid troubleshooting and investigation skills. 

Good to have 

• Experience working at a Linux command line to check logs, deployments etc. 

• Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket experience. 

• Software development experience outside of individual automated test cases.
