GWS Quality and Mission Assurance (QMA) is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and requires the ability to work full time on-site. This role will support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Software Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for integrating into one or more products on the GWS program. The Software Quality Assurance Team focus is on ensuring process execution and efficiencies in the development, testing, and release of software deliverables. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of programming languages, and the ability to process and analyze data quickly to identify areas for improvement opportunities.
Roles and responsibilities:
Assist with code reviews, product reviews, configuration audits, test witnessing, and post-test analysis as needed.
Support individual product scrum team(s) by attending meetings and monitoring the health of the product(s). Offer suggestions for improvement to the software leadership.
Assist with Software Quality reporting metrics when required.
Become fluent in the use of tools: Jira, Confluence, DOORS or others as needed.
Maintain a focus on software quality, collaboration, process and continuous improvement.
Review, develop and implement Software Quality related procedures and processes.
Participate in internal and external audits as required.
Collaborate with engineering, test, chief engineering office, and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Support local lab activities to include software installations and testing.
Potential travel to field sites to support GWS activities, as required.
Due to the nature of the role, this is not offered as a teleworking or hybrid position.
This position will be contingent on receiving an interim Secret clearance to start
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with a minimum of 2 years related experience; 0 Years with Masters.
Must be able to obtain an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application
Experience using metrics for process health and performance monitoring
Experience in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
Experience evaluating, tracing, and analysis of requirements
• Software development lifecycle experience
Preferred Qualifications:
An active DoD Secret Clearance
Experience developing and implementing Software Quality Assurance plans
Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting
Experience in Peer Reviews and Code Reviews
Experience in software build qualification testing (specifically automation)
Able to read and understand Software Code.
Experience using computer programming language(s).
Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools (e.g., SAP, DOORs, Jira, Confluence)
Experience in audits of engineering processes.
AS9100 experience.
Experience with an Agile software development program

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
