Position Summary
The Software Quality Engineer works within the GDK (Game Development Kit) organization, which is a global team that focuses on the development of a gaming framework for use in all Light And Wonder gaming applications.
This position is responsible for collaborating with GDK engineering teams in an agile software development environment, performing black box and white box testing to achieve high defect containment. Responsible for defining and running test cases based on software requirements, test automation efforts, code inspections, static and dynamic software analysis and peer reviews in order to ensure testing efficiency and high level of quality.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, review, and execute test protocols and scripts for middleware and gaming software.

Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

Develop and execute automated test cases, contribute to test framework development, and identify automation opportunities.

Perform static and dynamic analysis to uncover latent software issues.

Review code changes to define test scope and focus areas.

Participate in code inspections, design reviews, defect triages, and test milestone meetings.

Verify fixes, conduct regression testing, and ensure compliance with software and regulatory requirements.

Provide input for status reports, post-mortems, and risk escalation reviews.

Support process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance SQE practices.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (preferred)

2–5 years in software testing or development.
Technical Skills:
-
Knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework) and API automation testing.

Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).

Proficiency in programming languages (C, C++, C#, Python) and platforms (Windows, Linux/Unix).

Familiarity with Visual Studio, scripting languages, and Agile methodologies.

Understanding of software development best practices, including configuration management and coding standards.
Soft Skills:

Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Detail-oriented with a sense of ownership and accountability.

Capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
