Pay Range:

$115,100.00 - $189,200.00

Position Summary:

ProteinSimple is part of the Analytical Solutions division of Bio-Techne (NASDAQ: TECH). We are rethinking protein tools and helping thousands of researchers around the world resolve their protein analysis problems so they can reveal new insight into proteins and their role in disease.  Use your project leadership skills to enable the software development team to perform in ways that far exceeds what is delivered today.  Our product development team is making products that are drastically changing how scientists and researchers use tools to become more productive in the life science industry. Use your project leadership skills to enable the software development team to perform in ways that far exceeds what is delivered today.  As a technical manager operating in a leadership role, you will be empowered to ensure the team(s) successfully deliver the product by guiding them in test planning and execution.

Essential Functions:

Drive and prioritize technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative, fast-paced environment Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers across manual and automated testing disciplines, working on software for all product lines developed in San Jose and Wallingford facilities Define, implement, and maintain QA methodologies, test strategies, and best practices in accordance with corporate QMS Oversee the execution of software verification activities, including SOPs and configuration management for non-product software. Be the agile champion and pragmatist, driving best practices within engineering and product to ultimately release products to customers successfully. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, product management, regulatory) to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software lifecycle. Ensure all scrum meetings are successful, including backlog grooming, planning, standups, demos, and retrospectives. Analyze and report on QA metrics to drive data-informed decisions and process improvements. Occasional cross function interaction & influences at least one level up. Support production deployments and troubleshooting of developed solutions with technical and field support teams. Identifies talent and develops employees. Coaches and mentors their staff. Able to have difficult conversations. Works on issues of diverse scope aligned with leadership initiatives. Provides input for budget.

Education and Experience:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field (e.g. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics) with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on technical project leadership in software development or software quality assurance and 5 years Agile software project management experience or relevant experience and training.  Attention to detail, organization, and data analysis skills are required.  Must be able to multi-task, and have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Reports to the Director, Software Quality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication skills and team-work orientation 7+ years of experience leading local and remote project team members Understanding of software test life cycle: design, implementation, execution, and review Experience with test automation frameworks and tools Capable of writing test plans and reports PMP, SAFe, or SCRUM/Agile certified preferred Knowledge of molecular biology/scientific instrumentation preferred Working knowledge of the ISO 9001 environment Working knowledge of python programming language Understanding of GAMP5, FDA, and ISO regulations preferred.
